Have DeskJet 952C but no manual. The light on the left with the X button keeps flashing. The ink cartridges don't feel like they are out of ink. Is this ink. Any suggestions?

carts are bad, or contacts where carts install on printer are bad, try to clean contacts on cart and printer, if no joy replace printer.

Have new ink cartridges, however when I print a test page, nothing but the windows logo prints

You mean, the black color is completely absent from the printed page? Either the black cartridge is faulty and needs to be cleaned, or (less likely) the cartridge carriage is faulty.

Try running the "Printer Head Cleanup" routine from the printer manager maintenance menu.

Ink cartridges will not slide due to leaking ink underthe printer

Sorry to hear about the mess. Let's start with the clean up of the ink. Use a dry cloth or paper towel to wipe up the ink that has spilled out of the cartridge. Wipe gently so you don't do any damage to the internal components of your printer. The ink will likely color the inside of your printer - That's okay. Just make sure you get anything that puddles. It should not look wet.

On to the non-moving cartridge carrier. The standard fix for this is to do a hard reset on the printer. Follow these steps.

1. Unplug the power cord and remove the paper from the paper tray.
2. Move the carriage all the way to the right, close the lid and reconnect the power cord.
3. The printer will make some noise as it starts back up. Wait until it stops making noise.
4. Open the printer lid. The carriage should return to its normal position.
5. Try printing again.

If this does not work, then damage has been done to the internal components. You will need to get the printer serviced by a repair person.

How to remove the top of the 952c to get to the ink reservoir.

HP 952c = Deskjet Printer
Like ALL HP deskjets of this design:
Turn Printer ON (allow for test cycle), then lift top hinged panel.
Print cartridges will be parked in protected area to the right.
When top panel is lifted, they will move out for easy access.
They will NOT move out if printer is OFF.
So Please turn ON as first step.
Best to install new cartridges as opposed to cleaning.
If cleaning, utilize software option for clogged cartridges.
If they are leaking, replace them with new cartridges.
All this is available on HP web site.

Print page comes out blank

If the cartridges are old too this may be a problem. When ink gets old it can clog the cartridges. If they are old replace them with new ones. If they are new ones did you peel the protective covering off before you inserted the cartridges? Hopes this helps
