Problem installing SystemSuite 9

I am trying to install SS 9 onto a computer that has SS 8. It tells me to uninstall SS 8 first but I cannot do so. I keep getting a message saying that a file is missing. How can I permenantly remove SS 8 so that I can install SS 9? I have written to Avanquest 3 times but no reply. HELP!

I tried that to no avail. I would like to go in the registry and delete the entire folder for SS 8.

Did that but that is when the error message pops up. It seems that add/remove will not remove it. I even tried another uninstall program but it produce the same error. Thanks

Do a search on the net for the file that is missing and install it. Then try uninstalling.

Do you still have disc for ss8?

According to Avanquest, you should be able to use disc to remove program. try popping disc in and see if a menu pops up giving you option for uninstall. If that is what you tried to do first time install it again. Make sure "everything" else is turned off, and unistall again.

Windows Internet Explorer 9 has been installed as a system update in the operating system, and as such can be removed from the Uninstall an update control panel menu.
To get there click the start orb in the lower left corner of the screen, and then Control Panel in the right menu.
Locate Uninstall a program in the Control Panel and click on the entry. To uninstall Internet Explorer 9 click the View Installed Updates link in the upper left corner of the screen. This opens a listing of Microsoft updates that have been installed on the computer system.
Right-click on Windows Internet Explorer 9 and select uninstall from the context menu.
To complete the uninstallation, the computer needs to be restarted in the end.
After restart ur pc Run reginout cleaner to clean it's registry files

HOW CAN I UNISTALL FIX IT 9?

This came from the Avanquest Forum.

You can uninstall using the Add or Remove Programs component in the Windows Control Panel. This will initialize the Windows Installer to assist you with uninstalling.

If SystemSuite or Fix-It is not listed on the Add or Remove Programs list you can remove the program using the MicroSoft Installer CleanUp Utility. Please go to the following page and follow the steps on the web site. Run the utility and see if it detects SystemSuite or Fix-It and if it does then delete the entry. Once you've done this check the install directory located at C:Program FilesOntrackSystemSuite or Fix-It or VCOMSystemSuite or Fix-It and delete the folder if it still exists.

Best of luck getting this removed...I've read many reviews and people really dont' like it too much.

I have systemsuite 8 and it says my pattern files are out of date when i try to update it says it has the latest version already installed i purchased and had the antivirus installed by a computer repair...

Welcome to the world of utilities that let you know they're working by whining about each other. It sounds like you looked for pattern files for a certain antivirus tool using the same antivirus tool and were told they were current. If that's the case, good work and you can try manually installing pattern files from the antivirus makers' site and possibly meet success in making SystemSuite 8 happy, but things are going fine if you get new pattern files weekly or so. (If not, you can just install a different antivirus, uninstalling the first in the process.)

I dont know if i got a virus or deleted something i shouldnt have but now i cant access my systemsuite 8 virus protection to do scans or maintenance the icon is still there and it shows its still running...

You can try the following:
1) Do a system restore to an earlier date when things are okay.
2) Or repair the installation. Some programs let you do this. If that is the case, Click Uninstall and Click Repair or Restore option.
3) If it is virus problem, run TROJAN REMOVER. U can a portable one from the Net. Type, download and run it. It can delete and restore or remove changes made by the malware.
Good luck.

Cannot uninstall Avanquest SystemSuite? 9 Professional; need urgent help

Bro, I can solve this

These suites get way to crazy because of how they try to force people not to copyright them. Within your install process a rootkit was installed and it wont come out of your computer...do what I did...

Go to www.Myspace.com/KyleGallas to watch a video of a Custom Gaming Computer with all the must have security features...The PC has like $4,000 retail for like $659. It comes with a ton of extras like 133 Nintendo DS Games, Fallout 3, Adobe CS4, MS Office Ultmate 2007, Roxio Ultimate 2009...and more...Nothing is trial-ware but yours forever.

When trying to open adobe reader 8.1.1 get following message: patch package could not be opened. verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify...

it sounds like the application that is needed to uninstall the version 8 is corrupted or missing. Try reinstalling version 8 first then uninstall it before loading version 9. If you can reinstall version 8 and it asks you if you want to repair or install, choose install to get all of the files back before uninstalling it again. Always uninstall from add/remove programs. If deleting it from program files instead of uninstalling it correctly it will cause problems.
