Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer

Kenmore model 22432100 - it won't drain or spin

Any idea what's causing this machine to not release the water once the rinse cycle is complete? It makes a buzzing sound only without releasing the water and when I try to manually set-it up to spin, it won't spin or do anything? If I reset it manually to washing or rinsing, it will wash and rinse or I can add water. But then once the washing or rinsing is complete when the machine is supposed to get rid of the water and move into spinning, it makes a faint buzzing noise and it just stops.

washer full of clothes; stops at spin and won't go further; wash cycle works just fine. we have checked all fuses, unplugged and plugged back in. washer is full of water as well

The locking mechanism on the lid won't hold so the spin cycle can start. I can read in and hold the button on the machine but it's rather time consuming and painful to my hand.

Washing Machines will not rinse or spin

If the water won't drain out of your washing machine, either something is stuck in the drain hose or pump, or the pump is broken. Both fixes are simple if you're even just a little bit handy with tools. We're showing the repair on a Maytag washing machine.
What is wrong with a washer that does not spin?
If your washer fills with water but doesn't agitate, the problem is likely to be a faulty lid switch, a broken belt, or a problem with the motor. (Note: Direct-drivewashing machines do not have belts.) To diagnose the problem, do the following: 1Check the washing machine's spin cycle.

What causes a washing machine not to drain and spin?
If the washer won't drain there might be a clogged pump or hose. It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself. Remove the hoses from the pump in order to remove the article of clothing.

Fisher and Paykel 7.5 washing machine keeps powering off during rinse and spin cycles

The pump has a thermal safety cut out on it.
If the pump gets too hot it cut out.
Just put a new pump in and your all going again.

this is a direct drive washer the reason your unit is depending on if your hearing the motor running or not would either be the motor which i do not think it is or the drive coupler which connects the motor to the transmission and lets the unit spin here is also a video on how to do the repair for the drive coupler if when you disassemble you find the drive coupler intact and not broken message me back then for further diagnosis Thanks again heres you video http://www.youtube.com/user/RepairClinic?v=9K1KHEogf3c&feature=pyv&ad=5457341501&kw=washing%20machine%20coupler

Kenmore model 22432100 wont spinn or release the water

Hi.

Check if there is drain blockage. That will result in cycle not advancing to spin. To check drain system, check first the drain hose at the back and then access the hose connected to the drain pump. The drain pump is accessed from the bottom of the appliance. Disconnect power first.

If there is no drain problem, check pressure switch and lid switch.

Here a general article containing more detail about the no-spin problem: If you have no spin ...

Kenmore stack washer and dryer

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.
