Question about HP w2207 Monitor
I have a laptop connected to my HP w2207 monitor. At work it is setup so that I can view a fax on the laptop and a worksheet on my desktop monitor. I do not know how to do that at home. When I lift up the screen on my laptop, my desktop monitor goes to sleep and I can't see anything.
Sounds like you need to enable dual monitor in you display settings. There are three options there that will allow you to either 1. view one monitor at a time (sounds like your problem) 2. duplicate the same desktop on both monitors 3. expand desktop to the second monitor. (this is the one you want) On my Hpdv9000 it is accessible by right clicking on the desktop and selecting Nvidia Control Panel, -> Displays -> Multiple Displays. From here you can specify which monitor is your primary monitor where your start menu desktop will appear. But if you do not have an Nvidia Graphics card, which is typical of Hp's (your laptop's make you did not specify) this will be not much help sorry.
