Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I have a hp g62 laptop and the case fan has completely stopped working. When i first got the laptop it was fine, then the fan was functioning but very loudly then eventually it has stopped working

You will find thousands of posts in as many forums regarding this.

Solutions that have been successful have been:

- Simply blowing into the vent (Will get frustrating, trust me there!!)
- If you are confident, take it apart and clean out the heat-sink (YouTube has some tutorials, or email me)
- Take it to a techie for pro cleaning
- Check BIOS updates/tweaks etc (not for faint hearted)
- Upgrade the fan.

I am researching as we speak about which fan I can upgrade my machine with. There doesn't seem to be any 'live help' anywhere, I have to pay for a solution that I've probably already tried and failed.

Good luck, hope this babble helped.

I think you need to call them up and ask for a refund of previous work. Should have got it all right the first time if I may say so.

My fan does not work on my HP Pavilion Notebook

This sounds like an issue with the fan itself but may also be a motor driver or temperature feedback control / power management problem. Try replacing the fan with a known working fan. You can buy them at most computer repair shops and even Radio Shack I would not use the computer without the cooling fan working as the CPU may be damaged.

hello, have you looked to see if dust or other objects clogged the the fan, could also be failed or getting no power, open the notebook if you are comfortable with that, and see if you can turn it with finger, you will also see the wire and if it is dirty. good luck,

Automatically retarting when I shut down computer

2000 Is Windows 2000. Why did you put that disk in? Did you start loading Windows 2000 or XP Pro, XP-Home?

It sounds like your switch is wired to the reset jumper on the motherboard or you are hitting reset.

Tell me what the computer screen has on it before it shuts down please.
I will wait on you answer. Do not rate until we are done.
