I have the same problem but some work fine as ringtones (from my memory card)... just not others and they're the same format. It's when I put new tones on there that they won't show up as tone options. My previous ones show up fine. I can play the new tones from my sounds folder but can't apply them as ringtones - it shows up as 'default' instead of the ringtones so I'll have like 10 of them that say that. I deleted some (just incase I had too many) but it still didn't work. I even moved them to my phone too but still no luck. Don't laugh but I even tried texting them to myself and replacing the files and they still didn't work. I was going to bluetooth them to my friends phone and then back to myself but they wouldn't bluetooth to her. I thought maybe something was wrong with the files to I remade the songs (and downloaded the others from a different website), checked all the settings and put them on my memory card and I still can't get them to work as ringtones (although they're still playing fine in my sounds folder). Is there a way to fix this or is my phone messed up?

Anyone know what formats ringtone formats are supported on a Motorola V325 / V325i?

It looks like they do *.mid (midi), *.wav (wave), but these behave differently than the factory installed sound clips. Example: the factory installed clips are controlled by the master volume, while wav files clips blast through the speaker even when the master volume is turned to off? Very strange.

I can't set my sounds as ringtones on my nwe V3A. I even bought the Motorola Phone Tools software and it is still NOT working. Contacted Motorola support and was told they had to be in mp3 format (which they were) and under 30 seconds in length (which they were). I am getting very frustrated with this. CAN ANYONE HELP ME?????

  • calli_blaze Aug 04, 2008

I can not set up personal ringtones. It allows me to add the information to the contact, but it will only play one ring tone for all of my contacts. Even if I have a different ring tone set up for them.

The solution noted below does not help me.

I can set any of my ring tones for everybody, I just can't have different ringtones for different people.

I was researching this for a friend and discovered this supposed solution on the following forum. Souns a little complicated, but not bad. It will require downloading another program which is freeware but you will also need the motorola drivers for the phone (usually come with motorola phone tools)

Hope it helps

Hi there,
I understand now the difference between a sound being on the phone and the sound card. But how do I find where to format it into an MP3? I want to record my own sounds and set them as ringtones. They told me I could do this with the razor, but I can't figure out how to, and the manual isn't clear either.

My iPhone 5c won't ring

Does the phone plays music without any problem? If you play music to hear it on the loud speaker, and there is no sound, then you probably have a hardware failure, (bad speaker). But if you get to listen to the music, then try this next steps to see if it can be fix.
  • From the iPhone's home screen, tap the Settings app.
  • In Settings, tap Sounds in the third group of options.
  • In Sounds, swipe down to the Sounds and Vibration Patterns section. In that section, look forRingtone. That displays what you have set as your current iPhone ringtone. Tap it to change that.
  • This menu shows you the list of all the ringtones available on your iPhone.
To get new ringtones, tap the Store button in the top right corner. This will take you to the ringtone section of the iTunes Store where you can stock up on new ringtones.
  • If you choose not to buy new ringtones, but instead use the ones loaded on your phone, the first set of options in the Ringtones section are ones that you bought from the iTunes Store or created using another app and have synced to your iPhone. The ones below the divider came pre-installed on the iPhone.
Alert Tones, farther down the screen, aren't ringtones exactly. They're alert sounds normally used for alarms and other notifications, but they can be used as ringtones, too.
  • When you tap on a ringtone, it will play so you can preview it and decide if it's what you want. When you've chosen the ringtone you want to use as your default, make sure it has the checkmark next to it. Then tap the Sounds button in the top left corner or click the Home button to go back to the home screen. Your choice is saved automatically.
  • Now, whenever a call comes in, the ringtone you just selected will play (unless you've assigned individual ringtones to callers, that is. If you have, those ringtones take precedence). Just remember to listen for that sound, and not a ringing phone, so you don't miss any calls.

How do i change tone for messages? and can i do i reminder message tone every 1 minuet

To change ringtones and message tones I use one of two apps.
Zedge has a large selection of sounds for you to select and download for free and it will give you the option to add it as a ringtone or notification tone.
Or you can use Ringdroid this allows you to add any mp3 file you want and again you can do it as a ringtone or notification.
So those are two fantastic apps that I use a lot. Zedge also has a large selection of wallpapers for you as well.
Now if this still doesn't work then if you go Settings/Sound/Notification Ringtone this will bring up a menu system that will allow you to select a sound either one installed on the phone from boot or one you have added yourself.
This should help you, also selecting Phone Ringtone instead of Notification Ringtone then the same kind of menu system will come up.

    Hope this helps.

Picked up my motorola defy yesterday, how do i tape a song and set it to my ringtone

Create a folder named 'ringtones' (without the quotes) on the root of your memory card, and copy the song you want to set as ringtone to that folder. Then, go to 'Menu > Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone'. The song you copied should be available to be selected.
You can set specific ringtones (sound files you copy to that folder, or any system sounds) to the people in your contact list who happen to call you most. This way you would know whos is calling you without even looking at your phone. Anyway, go to 'Contacts', select the contact entry you want to have his/her specific ringtone changed (you can press the search button and type his/her name), and tap 'Menu > Edit'. Slide to the end of the screen and tap the arrow at the right of 'Additional info'. The arrow will face down. Slide to the end of the screen again, and select 'Ringtone'. After selecting the ringtone, tap 'Save'.
Hope you find these informations useful, somehow.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further.
    Regards, Carlos

Your computer is full of potential free ringtones for your Samsung T229 (also known as Samsung SGH-t229, T-mobile t229) :
    By Bluetooth:
The Samsung t229 is Bluetooth-enabled. Bluetooth is a wireless system which lets you connect your cell phone to computers, headsets, car kits, etc. If your computer is also Bluetooth-enabled, simply establish a connection between both devices and transfer your music files from your computer to your Samsung t229.
    Simply record sound directly:
Since your Samsung t229 has a sound recorder (also known as "voice memo"), a very simple technique involves simply placing your phone near your computer's speakers, playing whatever music or sound you would like as a ringtone, and recording it -- you can even use your voice, your child's voice or even your cat's "meow!" Record it with your mobile and there you go! Unless that function was specifically blocked on the Samsung t229, you should be able to navigate to the ringtones section and choose your new recording as a ringtone. Of course, the quality will not be ideal but, after all, it's free!

    Downloading using the phone
NOTE: MegaTones, HiFi Ringers, and Voices & Sounds are stored at Menu > Fun & Apps > Files > Sounds > Sounds. To download using the phone, perform the following steps: 1. At the main screen, select t-zones. 2. Scroll to and select Music & Sounds. 3. Scroll to and select HiFi Ringers, MegaTones, or Voices & Sounds. 4. Scroll to and select the desired category. 5. Scroll to and select the desired tone. 6. On the preview page, select ACCEPT. 7. After the tone downloads, select Play to preview the tone. 8. Select Set as. 9. Select one of the following options:
    • myFaves ringtone: To set as a myFaves® ringtone. Scroll to and select the desired myFaves contact.
    • Default ringtone: To set as the default ringtone.
    • Caller ringtone: To set as a caller ringtone. Scroll to and select the desired contact.
    • Alarm tone: To set as an alarm tone. Scroll to and select the desired alarm. Turn on the alarm and select the desired time and date.
    10. Select Save.

Created my own ringtone, downloaded to my phone, now when I select ringtone, the one I created does not appear, I downloaded to both the the micro SD card AND the phone memory. h el p I can see and hear...

Putting ringtones on the phone is pretty easy, they have to be mp3 format, they have to be 198 kb or lower, go to your memory card, click on the ringtone, the next screen will show all your songs, click on your ringtones, move them to phone, paste under audio (should be the first option)Then back out of the screens, go to my stuff, click on audio, your ringtones should be there, click on one of them, in the upper right hand corner you will see a square with lines in it, click on it, it will give you the option to use as - Ringtone or Ringtone ID.

I need to know how to delete ringtones and how to assign ringtones to contacts

to delete ringtones, open the file explorer application from progams. navigate to device\my documents\ my ringtones , select the ones you want and delete. nice and ease. set a new ringtone either in the sound and notifications section of settings, or on a file, tap and hold on the screen on a file you wish to have as a ringtone and select "set a ringtone". if you are looking for these as a message tone you need to convert the file to a .wav file and import this to the windows folder on the device then select in the sounds and notifications tab in settings.

assigning tones to contacts can only be done if your contacts are outlook contacts, not sim contacts. open and edit a contact, scroll down to ringtone, although again with these i belive the file must be a .wav file and be located in the windows directory.

    Iphone ringtone wont play

I had the same problem. I hooked my phone back up to iTunes and synced my phone. Ringtone disappeared from phone, but remained in my computer's iTunes. Then I added it back to my phone through iTunes by syncing ringtones specifically. Here is step by step:
    1. Plug in iPhone 2. Sync Phone 3. Click on iPhone, open Ringtones tab 4. Check "Sync ringtones" box and Select your Ringtone 5. Click Sync
This worked for my phone. Hope it helps. I used my phone to download ringtone.
