Howdy, i'm having a problem with my camera and card. I accidently pressed a button to format my photo's and it said ' busy erasing photo's' i opened the cover and took the battery out to prevent this happening and when i turned it back on the only option i have is to either format or turn my camera off. i tried to put the photos onto the computer but it says the device is not ready. i'm worried i have lost all my photos, or will. Please help! thank you.
Hi. Thanks for your question, it helped me solve the same problem on my 720 SW. I don't know what initialised the problem but I had the same result - when I turned the power on I only had the option to format the memory card or turn the camera off. The solution was to take the memory card out and download the pictures using a card reader connected to my laptop. When I re-inserted the card and turned the camera on it worked normally. To make sure that everything was again OK I formatted the memory card to make sure it was properly re-set. Good luck and thanks. Rob

I think you accidently selected FORMAT option from settings, Formatting the memory card erase all the data including protected images and other file types. So, once you formatted the memory card there is no way to restore them.
To format the card:
1 Pressing the Erase mode button and the Flash mode
button at the same time sets the screen to the YES/NO
2 Press the OK button to start formatting (the Card error
indicator blinks). Press the Erase mode button to cancel
3 When the card formatting is done, the Card error indicator
To re-format the card intentionally:
Press the Erase mode button and the LCD monitor ON/OFF
button simultaneously, with the power OFF, to set to the Yes/No display and then press ok.

Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Ok button - right arrow to Mode Menu - down arrow to Card tab - right arrow to card setup - right arrow to format option. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the card full message and the card can be used again.
