Question about Dell FAN / SHROUD ASSY 92X30MM 2X333 Fan Kit

1 Answer

My 2x333 fan is not working properly

I just cleaned it since it was very dusty, but it's still not turning properly.

I suspect that there are some dust chunks close to the rotor and it needs to be cleaned from the inside, if that's the case - is there a way to open it without damaging it?

Thanks!
Dylan.

Well sometimes there are fixable if going to try use a small flat head screw driver and find the plastic clamps and gently pry if you break one don't cry because you probably have to buy a new anyway but its the learning experience you get by having the balls to try. well if you get it open check for dust chunks they do **** up a lot of dust be prepared for serious dust bunnies read the label is it bearingless or ball bearing give the blower blade a good spin does it seem a little wobbley or does it seem to want to stop as soon as you spin it then get a 9v battery and check if it will spin at all if it does put back together and thank GOD you didn't have to shell out that much money for little piece of plastic and a motor and if you do have to buy one pray to GOD you find a cheap one those super blows can get ridious on prices. well have a nice day (compaqsiget over and out have a nice day)

My hp laptop pavillion dv3 video card over heat, then shot down but cooling fan is working properly! what is the solution to these trouble?

the cooling fan in a laptop is mostly for keeping the whole system cool unless you have a custom vid card installed. make sure the vents underneath are clean and invest in a fan for the laptop. I got one on e-bay for less than $10 and have seen them at Wal-Mart for $14. an external fan is your choice I haven't had any problems since I got one for mine

maybe you can put or add some thermal paste on the back of the processor by removing the heatsink that attach to the fan simply turn counter clockwise the four lock then pull out the heatsink with the fan remove all excess dried thermal paste replace it with a new thermal paste make sure that you put only a small amount of it, before replacing back the heatsink with the fan be sure that you already turn the lock to lock position before inserting it to the motherboard, now push one by one those lock gently, make sure its snap in place securely all four lock check for uneven on the heat sink before turning the computer on

My Dell cooling fan now runs at a high speed and the computer will not turn on. I robbed one from an older Dell, and got a message that the (new-old) fan wasn't working, (The plug was smaller then mine)but...

The cooling fan racing is a symptom of a No Post state in the Motherboard. The Power LED and diagnostic LED indications would be helpful in resolving your issue. If the power LED is flashing Amber, the power supply is suspect, solid Amber points to the motherboard or something connected to it. The DIAG LEDs 1234 on the front or ABCD on the back give more specific information.

Initial Impression, is motherboard failure, post the DIAG and Power LED indications for more exact diagnosis

My computer is becoming really hot and noisy. After turning on the computer, everything is good (no noise). Once around 15 minutes passes by or I open up a lot of programs together, my computer starts...

Sounds like the fan is wearing out, as it heats up the fan needs to spin faster and if the bearings are wearing out it will start getting louder and it will also get hotter because the fan cannot keep up the heat being produced. You can replace the fan, most computer shops will carry replacements, also get a can of compressed air and give the inside of the computer a good cleaning. This will help keep things cooler as well. Also make sure that the air vents on the outside of the case are clear as well.

If the fan is clanking/clicking it needs to be replaced, a whine is an indication that the fan will be failing soon and will need to be replaced.
In general if the fans are spinning really fast it means that the system is getting hot and needs cooling. make sure to clean out your system regularly. http://www.pctechbytes.com/DIY/maintenance.htm
You may need to get another fan or two to install in the system to increase air flow, or move the system to a better ventilated area.

How do i know there is still water in the system. my rig recently stopped working and I suspect the cooler is no longer pumping water

Most water cooled systems don't lose fluid if the seals and hoses are in good shape, plus you would know if the system lost fluid...inside or outside your rig. The biggest issue with water cooled systems is the radiator, it gets plugged with hair and dust and is hard to see because of the fan that covers it. I recommend with these systems that a weekly cleaning of the fan and cooling fins of the radiator. A small vacuum does a great job. Usualy when the system stops working it is caused by a thermal shutdown signal from the processor.

Dell 2x333 fan is working, but having difficulties. I suspect it needs to be cleaned from dust on the inside, is ther a way to open it? I couldn't figured it out.

to open the computer there will be 2 screws on the back on the side edge at the top and bottom, remove these and slide the side panel of the computer backwards and it should come off and you will see the fan in front of you, use a can CO contact cleaner (safe to use on all electrical parts) or canned air, if your computer is a different setup (as the make and model was not provided) send me the make and model and i'll get back to you with a more detailed answear
