No Volume on the Television

There is no sound on the televsion. The volume control looks like it is going higher but no sound comes out. We had the cable repair guy come out and he used an alternate television and he got sound. Is there a special nute button somewhere that we accidentaly hit? Thanks

Bose system is just over 1 yr old, hooked up to Smart Tv ( same age) sound was working fine, turned volume down, no sound at all after that

Hi, You have a Bose Home Theater System hooked up to your television and I'm wondering if you're controlling the volume through the Bose Home Theater System or the television because both have a volume control and if you have the television volume turned down and you're using the Bose Home Theater System for volume or visa-versa then you're not going to get a decent sound. I hope you know what I mean...... CHEERS..

Have windows XP. Somehow audo is out.Did I accidently switch isit off?

Yes, you might have turned off the sound in your PC.

For Windows Xp this is the procedure to turn it ON.

Go to 'Start'--->Settings---->Control Panel----->Sounds and Audio Devices

Here you will get a window where you will find all the sound related options. Here you will beable to modify the volume levels and check whether the mute checkbox is ticked, if yes then uncheck the box and click on OK.

your problem should be resolved.

If you feel that my answers have helped you getting solution to your problems then please give a vote.

Thanks.

I have a tv/dvd flatscreen televsion. It is only a year old. The problem is I can not hear anything. My television is displaying the screen and movies/television is working fine, just no volume. Please...

Does the the little bar graph on screen volume display react when you turn the volume up and down or does it say something like TV VOLUME IS FIXED?

Try using your remote to look in your tv's MENU for the AUDIO OPTIONS.

Check to make sure the SPEAKER option is turned ON.

If that doesnt work, try running a cable from your tv's audio out jacks in the back to one of your home stereo's AUX inputs and see if you can hear the tv through your stereo.

Good Luck.

Got an acer aspire 5517 and the build in mic is not working how do i fix this?

All I can think of is maybe it's muted? Anyway, Go to, control panel>sounds devices> goto the, Mic tab and then "enable" it.

if using windows xp or higher then you can see it ...in your Taskbar... and also goto "Sound Device" & from there, find "Mic" tab & uncheck the "Mute" button or raise the volume etc ...

I can't get the tv volume to work when using my onkyo tx-sr806. What might be the problam?

I assume you are looking to have sound from the television through the speakers that are connected to your receiver?

If that is the case then make sure you have connected the audio out from the television to the audio input for what might be labled monitor or TV/SAT. Then turn the volume on the televsion all the way up and switch the input on the receiver to TV/SAT.

I want to be able to adjust the television volume and not have the home theater system over ride it

you wont be able to controll the volume from the tv to controll your reciever, but you can have sound come from both, with different controlls.
on your tv (not sure what you got) in your tv menu select : TV SPEAKER TO ON, and then the sound will come out your tvspeakers as well as the reciever, but to be brutally honest you dont want to do that.
that will cause an echo effect and will drive you nuts

Volume won't turn down

Try the setup program. When you get to the main setup screen, look for a reset all to standard setting. That may solve the problem. If it doesn't then the sound module may need to be replaced inside the TV.

Volume

you might want to look into one of two options... either an external sound card, or a keyboard that has mltimedia buttons on it.

If you go with the former, the Audigy 2 NX external sound card might be want you are looking for. It's small and has volume controls right on the top. Granted, it is overkill if you just want simple volume control. However, if you don't have a high-end sound card already, it could be a nice addition to your desk..?
