No Volume on the Television

There is no sound on the televsion. The volume control looks like it is going higher but no sound comes out. We had the cable repair guy come out and he used an alternate television and he got sound. Is there a special nute button somewhere that we accidentaly hit? Thanks

Have windows XP. Somehow audo is out.Did I accidently switch isit off?

Yes, you might have turned off the sound in your PC.

For Windows Xp this is the procedure to turn it ON.

Go to 'Start'--->Settings---->Control Panel----->Sounds and Audio Devices

Here you will get a window where you will find all the sound related options. Here you will beable to modify the volume levels and check whether the mute checkbox is ticked, if yes then uncheck the box and click on OK.

your problem should be resolved.

I just bought a 32 in samsung tv.. the audio worked fine until I had the cable guy come and install the cable box on it.. Now I turn it all the way to 100 and still can't hear it very well.. any...

Try adjusting the volume on the cable box. The cable box should have a on-screen volume control, try setting it up some. You may have to navigate around to find where you control the cable box volume but it should be there.

Hi Folks - I have a Roland Fantom G6 that produces no sound! Everything else seems to be fine - the display registers that I am hitting the keys & even the skip-back sampling feature produces a wav...

This probably is not a DIY repair... The audio comes out of the CODEC and is buffered by Op Amp used as filters and then goes through the volume controls, After that it goes to the jack board with buffer OP amps. First thoughts might be a damaged volume control, however, the "B" outputs don't go through volume controls...

About the only thing I would think you could do is to CAREFULLY open the unit and look for a loose cable involved with sending the audio to the volume control panel and then the cable that takes the audio to the jack board...

More than that you would probably need to take it to a shop equiped to troubleshoot.

I am unable to go to menu on my televsion.

Some universal remotes do not correctly handle the features of the original remote. You can get an exact duplicate remote from

Alternatively, get one of the higher end programmable remotes. The ones programmed from your computer are more likely to be trainable to do all the features of your original remot.

I hope this helps.

I can't get the tv volume to work when using my onkyo tx-sr806. What might be the problam?

I assume you are looking to have sound from the television through the speakers that are connected to your receiver?

If that is the case then make sure you have connected the audio out from the television to the audio input for what might be labled monitor or TV/SAT. Then turn the volume on the televsion all the way up and switch the input on the receiver to TV/SAT.

Onkyo ts595 goes into protect mode with volume increase

HI check your speaker cables are not touching, also make sure "b" speakers are not on and that all your speakers are 4ohm or higher as this will cause the amp to shut down if they are to low an impedeance,The amp is protecting itself when it shuts down.

hope this helps.

Hey Tex

You are on the right track, sounds like a noisy volume control. Can often be repaired with a squirt of cleaner spray into the potentiometer assembly. But I suggest you use crc2-26 contact lubricant spray, not silicone spray which is a great materials lubricant, but not electrical. Worst case, the Vol Potentiometer, may have to be replaced. Go for the CRC first and see how it goes. Good Luck, happy FixYa
