Try the following:

  1. Remove batt. for 5 minutes.
  2. Put batt. back in notebook.
  3. plug in power
  4. make sure you have a power lite on the notebook.
  5. press power switch for 10 seconds.
Sometimes a notebook goes into "Hibernate" or "Sleep" mode, and then the file becomes corrupt. This will sometimes clear it up.
If you are asked to "Resume", say no.

My acer laptop wont turn in it just acts like there is no batterry in it and no power cord plugged in

Hello.

The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.

For laptops, remove the heatsink and apply new thermal paste or the motherboard may need replacing. Leave it to an expert if you are not familiar.

Hope this helps.

Dell dimension 3000 stopped working no light on

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then -
The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty.
Check power adapter’s DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.
This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

My toshiba laptop crashed and will not turn on,no power.my charger works but goes off when i plug into laptop.please help?

It is possible that the jack behind the laptop where the power cord plugs into may have broekn loose from its solder that holds it in place on the laptop motherboard. Inspect the connection to make sure there is a secure and tight connection. If there is significant "wobble" after you plug in the power cord to the back of the laptop, you need to get the power jack re-soldered onto the laptop motherboard, otherwise a short may be occuring everytime you plug the power cord into the laptop thus causing your power supply light to go off.

My Toshiba Laptop will not turn on the second light from the left is flashing orange

There could be a problem with the battery. A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.

If this did not work, try also disassembling the laptop & make sure that all main components are seated properly. Also make sure that all ribbon cables interconnecting the various components of the laptop are tightly connected.

Laptop Not Power on Battery Mode

I understand that while the laptop is connected to the power supply it's ok, and while it boots up, even with the cord disconnected, it stays on but only briefly, but after a while, it shuts itself down?
If this is so, it would appear that your battery is dead and needs replacing. Your laptop will still work, as long as it's connected to its power supply. It should even work with the battery removed, provided it's plugged into the adapter.

Laptop will not turn on.

If there are no apparent physical defects on the laptop, power cord, or battery and the laptop is not receiving any power even when plugged in then either your power cord or some circuitry in your laptop have become damaged. If your laptop is still under warranty sending it off to HP for repair will be your cheapest solution, otherwise you may try replacing the power adapter.

Advent laptop 7079 suddenly has no power, power adapter light is on

Is there a power indicator light on the laptop? If so , is it on when the adapter's light is on and plugged into the laptop? If not, try gently moving the computer end of the plug on the adapter while it's all plugged in. If the power indicator on the laptop flashes briefly or comes on you have an issue with a loose power connection in the laptop and need to have it serviced . this is a very common issue with laptops that are frequently plugged in and unplugged as the motion promoted lose plugs and solder.
also the laptop could be in hibernate mode and holding the power button on the laptop down for about 7 seconds should wake it.
If still no power i would suspect the power supply and aagain i would take it and have it serviced at this point.. ALWAYS CHECK THE WARRANTEE BEFORE YOU SERVICE SOMETHING YOURSELF
Post again here if i can assist you further
Please rate if this solves your issue
