Question about Bose 901 EQ1915 Home Equalizer
I have tried two different receivers (pioneer sx-2300) & (Onkyo A-RV401) and cannot get a clear sound or any bass whatsoever on the 901's series iv. I also have a set of 301's that work great except when they are run through the equalizer(distortion kicks in).
Ihave new cables & have tried using different tape monitors, vcr line,...etc I even hired a disc jockey who owns a set to look at them & he can't figure it out either.
You should check your 901 speakers for phase.
Heres how to do it........ Remove the 901 speaker grill so you are able to see all the drivers cones. Now connect the 901 speaker wires to a 9 volt battery. Now u can check if all the cones would move forward or backward at the same time. Make sure that they all move in the same direction, otherwise you have to reverse the polarity of the driver that dont move with the rest.
