No matter where i set the controls its only cool/cold air. Both auto and manual do the same thing. All hoses are hot upper/lower and heater core inlet/outlet. What to check next?
It most definitely is your blend door. It's a bit of a hassle but in the end it doesn't cost anything but a sore back/neck and hands. Take your time. remove glove compartment, and you'll see the blend actuator. I unplugged mine as it was stuck in 'cold' mode. after re-plugging it worked again and has been fine since.

If your "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" light is on, you need to have that checked out first.
If not, the next thing you should check is your engine coolant level. (Antifreeze) If the coolant level is low, the engine coolant does not circulate through the heater core and the the heater doesn't work. The coolant level could be low for a number of reasons including a leaky hose, water pump, or head gasket. In any case, if it is found to be low, you need to find out why.
If the coolant level is OK then the thermostat function needs to be checked to make sure that the engine is reaching operating temperature.
If all of the above checks out OK, then the heater control valve and/or the blend air door in the HVAC housing needs to be checked for proper operation. (NOTE: some cars are not equipped with a heater control valve)

sounds like the heat blend cable is either dislodged or frozen, the cable runs from the control head to the blend door located on the drivers side just above the gas pedal ,it is not an easy job to replace, i sugest to take it to your local dealer, its not that costly and they will know exactly what to fix.
Testimonial: "as my car is right hand drive i take it the position stated would be next to the centre console on side of heater air con box behind dash board. "

I had a similar problem and the dealership diagnosed it as a malfunctioning "belender" in the climate control system. The work was done under warranty.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. You want to make sure all your vents are open and temperature control is set right. There may be something blocking the air from that side. It is typically warmer in that area because of the engine heat. Is the cool air on the passenger side normal cool or is it warmer then usual? On the driver side, is it hot air or just warm? Have you checked your freon level?
Air
Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat or no AC (dependes on
where door sticks)
In
all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive
that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the
AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air
temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this
door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common
complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these
parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire
dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or
qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.
Other causes of no heat in the cabin are engine thermostats that are stuck open (engine runs cold) or air bubbles in the cooling system.
