Question about Pioneer DVR-RT300 DVD Recorder/VCR
Hello I am trying to have my xxd3152 which came with my new vsx 818v reciever to control my pioneer DVR RT502 recorder. I have tried all the codes in the book supplied with the reciever but cannot get to work.

This is an old complaint. I hope you got the remote. You have to connect VCR output to line-1 input on DVR, and you must also select it with the remote. I've been using it for a while, and it seems to work well. Remember to FINALIZE. jj

The EPG is the electronic program guide trying to download TV listings.
This is normal for this player. To disable this, you would need to turn off the TV guide function.

It doesn't really have one. The DVR-Out (or any other available Line-Out) COULD provide a mixed-down analog stereo program but it won't be volume controllable from the VSX and it won't be Front-Channel specific. Sorry.
You would then connect the EQ between the chosen Line Out and the amp input. If you had a Pre-Our you would just run speaker assignment, levels, etc and have fun. With a Line Out feed you will have to ride herd on the 901 volume via its dedicated amp controls. Bummer. My older VSX-36TX allows me to have the right setup.
