SOURCE: Lincoln Town Car 1999 driver side window switch

I have the same problem in my 2001 towncar. I removed the switch control panel (without removing the door panel) by prying up from the front of the panel. There's a spring loaded plug under the mirror adjustment. Once you get that pulled up, the whole unit will lift out. Since there's a two year difference in the models - it MAY not work... however, you might not have to remove the whole door panel as you think.
In my case, the wiring was bad.

I found the answer here; it tells you exactly which wires to jump in order to get the driver's side window to raise:

1998 Rav 4 power windows.. Front Passenger window will not roll up from master or passenger side. No noise, need new motor

Each system is bad. The windows need regulators(they come with motors) the radio probably died(check fuse). And the mirror switch is bad(Since you still have power to the drivers window).

How do i get a wiring diagram for drivers side electric window?

Wiring diagrams usually are not spit up in that manner. Inlays are used in important sectios and the schematic may bridge the page,Schematics are folded preferentialy to maintain continuity of the drawn circuits. No front, go rear? Circuits can be split to segregate front and rear. If the fuse is good then the switch at the drivers door msy be at faulty due to burned contacts, bad connector ir dislocated wire.Highest probability is the fuse which should be checked first. Then the switch (master on drivers door). Voltage in and voltage out when switch is operated. Now, keep in mind rhat the problem is more often the ground to the circuit. Each window motor has its own grtound and hot wire. The motors of each are grounded to yhe door its in. So Two points to verify. Power and ground. Check under the drivers seat, There maybe be a juncture if wirie harnesses. If so, check all connections and ground. CHECK under the hood/engine compartment.for additional connectors used to connect the chasis wire harnesst o the body harnss I hope this helped, if not, I apologize for wasted time reading. Good Luck.- .Ps.

Need to get a wiring diagram. Buy a book and follow the wiring schematic. It should help you out majorly. Can't really work on electrical issues without one.

Driver window won't roll up and passenger wont roll down where are the fuses for these windows located?

the window fuses are in the fuse box
but i don't think that's the problem if a window will roll up but not down
or down but not up/////
open the driver door you will see a rubber tube going from the door to
the door jam open the rubber up ill bet you find a few broken wires
all you need to do is splice them back together

if you don't find any brakes in the fuse box the windows are setup
on breakers they might be bad Thar's always a first for every thing

hope this helps you
good luck

All the windows in my 2000 daewoo nubira are not working... I checked the fuses they are all fine... I don't believe it would the switches or regulators or motors since it is all the windows and not just...

  • Have you tried rolling the windows up from all the different switches on the different doors? Or are you just using the master panel on the drivers side door? If the other door switches roll up their respective windows then you need to replace the faulty master switch (drivers door).

  • If this is not you problem then you need to look at that rubber tubing in your drivers side door jam. this is the power feed for your window switches, all of them. Often times the wire inside the tube gets cracked simply because of it's location. You can just splice a wire in should this be the problem.

  • You said you checked the fuses and they are good. And there is no way every motor/regulator is going bad at once. That leaves the two suggestions above for your trouble shooting.

There is no power to window switch is ok but won;nt roll down driver side or passanger side need to no how to get driver side window down antil i get fixed

Remove the door panel, and use two jumper wires to the window motor. One wire goes to a good, non-painted surface on the metal body of the van, for a good ground. The other wire goes to a 12 volt source. Touch the two wires of the window motor with the two jumper wires.

Tries to go up? Switch the jumper wires around, and try again.

Driver power window will not roll back up

A quick way to check if the motor or switch is the problem is to perform this test, at night operate the window switch with the door open, if the dome light dims slightly most likely the window motor is defective or the regulator is jammed, if no dim is observed then the switch is most likely the problem, very quick and easy to do.
