I currently have internet access and "E" mail through Verizon via a land line; also have a G-Mail account on my I Pad. How can I eliminate my Verizon "E" mail and continue with G-Mail on my computer

Well...technically you cannot 'eliminate' your Verizon eMail account as that is how Verizon 'recognizes' you as a customer on their site. You have to use that to log into your Verizon account to pay your bill or change your services...etc.

That said, you do not have to keep logging-in to LOOK at your mail. If you are using a pop3 mail-client, (like Outlook, or Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail,) then there ARE steps you should do to 'remove' that account from whichever client you have...or they can be set to keep the mail they have so-far, but not to download any more from that account, it depends on the client, and what your preferences are.

If you only look at your mail using a web-browser and going to verizon's website, then again, you would just stop doing that.

I have windows vista 64 and all of a sudden I can't send out e-mails and I tried support but no help then I tried live chat can't get in saying i have no smtp

At the beginning of September Windows Live changed the protocol for sending emails from http to pop3 so you need to reconfigure your account in your email client.see links below

I cannot get my comcast email contacts switched over to verizon. What should I do?

What email program are you using? That will determine where your contacts are stored, and that will determine your options.

If you are using ComCast's Web-based email system (in your Web browser), you'll either need to import them into a local program like Outlook or Outlook Express, or you'll have to talk to ComCast about exporting them to a .csv file. If you can display a list of them in tabular format on the screen, you may be able to copy-and-paste it into an Excel spreadsheet and then save that as a .csv file. If you're already using Outlook or Outlook Express, you should be able to just create the new Verizon mailbox and retain your existing contacts. If you can get them as a .csv file, you can either import that into Outlook or Outlook Express, or you can talk to Verizon about importing it into their Web-based email system.

It seems like your SMTP server is missing...

Follow these instructions:

1. Open Outlook.

2. From the Tools menu, select Accounts.

3. Select View or change existing email accounts, then select Next.

4. Select the Verizon account in the Name window, then select Change.

5. Fill in your Internet email settings:

* Type outgoing.verizon.net in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field.

* In the User name field, type your Verizon Online user name.

* In the Password field, type your password.

6. Select More Settings.

7. From the Outgoing Server tab, check the box: My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

8. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail.

9. Select OK, then select Next. Click Finish to close the
window.

That should fix it.

Good luck!

Connecting my email to outlook express

Hi
Outlook Express doesn't accept web based email anymore.

I recommend Outlook 2007. You will also need to install the outlook connector to be able to do it.

Right now Outlook supports Hotmail web email addresses only.

In Outlook click on TOOLS and then ACCOUNT SETTINGS.
Click on NEW and choose the Microsoft Exchange,POP3, IMAP or HTTP.
Then just follow the On-Screen Instructions.
Don't tick the box where it says Manually configure server settings

cheers

I think the problem is from your sender. Is the message sent from a personnel email address or from a corporate address? I asked because where I worked, we could make rules to send messages and sometimes those rules were causing that type of problem.
