Baxi solo 3 50pf boiler burner on for 1min then shuts off

My baxi solo 3 50pf boiler is giving me grief! everything seems to work ok ie pump, 3 port valve etc, however, the boiler starts when request ( via timer) the burner ignites and runs for about 1 min. then shuts off, fan still runs, then burner will cut in again for about 1 min and so on. Rads are warm but never get hot, water gets luke warm. I have also noticed pump runs continuously 24/7?!? Any ideas?

Hi, This is a nuisance scenario, although i'm looking at a component in the boiler and i would aim for the PCB (printed circuit board), this fault is very difficult to diagnose over the internet. Let me ask you a few more questions if i may..... On HW only, is the pump running? If you have any other gas appliances in the house are they working ok? Please be very specific and record the exact length of time the boiler is on for.... I will resolve this. Steve

SOURCE: Baxi solo 3 70pf boiler problem

This happened to me and it was a rubber pipe inside had perished so it was detecting a loss of pressure. You can see it if you take the main cover off and also the front clipped on cover. Its at the top on the right. You need to replace it with heatproof pipe. Good luck!

Make sure the gas inlet & outlet pressures are correct (manometer) & that the primary air mixture is adjusted correctly. Check to make sure you have 1 square inch of outside air for combustion per 2000 BTU's rating on the boiler.

One thing I would check is the flame sensor. Your boiler may not have this on it but I have seen them act like this before. If you have one I would replace it. Hope this is ofsome help. Thanks

My Baxi Solo 3 PF60 Boiler was serviced 2 weeks ago be a Corgi registerd agent. The Boiler had worked very well in fact and up until last Sunday morning when the boiler failed to come on. On inspection,...

It could be something as simple as an improperly placed thermostatic sensing bulb. Those controls are pretty tough. Look for obstructions that would cause air restrictions and overheating. You've done all you can do then. Call the tech back back and get him to check or replace the aqua-stat.If it turns out to be ok them your limit may be weak and in need of replacement.

first off ensure water is getting to boiler, next, No pilot = pressure switch. On my baxi solo 40 pf pressure switch is replaced 8-10 times a year cures your problems,,,,,,,, momentarily , and have had all your other parts, but with no effect to speak of,.......sorry............ solution = [ change boiler ].sounds like gas pressure or lack of water to system or **** boiler like mine .........good luck.

Overheating

you could have a flow problem due to sludge or scale in the boiler, it could be a pump problem as it may not be circulating enough water around the system. or it could be a faulty thermostat if it is not cutting out soon enough.
1st try turning the boiler stat down to its minimum, if it still over heats then it is probably the stat.
if you have a switch on your pump to increase the speed make sure it is on setting 3. if the pump is old then it may be time for a replacement.

Our Baxi combi 130 HE heats the water OK but will not heat radiators. This has happened after a period of not using the radiators (ie. over the summer)

check the pressure it should be in  the green band, check the pump, inside the boiler cabinet lower right.
