Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Just received my new console (a japanese nstc one) downloaded the 1.7 patch but still cant play the 2 games purchased today in england error message games not supported can you offer any advice
There haven't been any region-specific PS3 games released yet, but you may have problems if playing out-of-region games on an SD (i.e. non hi-def) telly. This is fairly well documented. Stroller.

Some games won't be supported since they are region specific. And if it's a PS2 game then it may not have the patch needed to play it. Here in the states about 200 PS1 and PS2 games are not recognized by the PS3. And if it's not an American region game, then we have to have a mod chip for it to work.
