I Cannot connect My Ipod Touch to my Tiscali Router

The router is a Simens Gigaset SE587 and I am sure you should be able to connect up to 4 devices to this. I only have my Laptop running off of it.
Anyway's my IPOD finds the Tiscali network no problems, and then asks for the password, which I assume is the same password as I use for my broadband PC connection. However when typing this in, it refuses connection.
I would appreciate any help you can offer?

Thanks for this gryghin, the only password that I have is for my logon onto Broadband from my PC. Although the connnection is automatic, so don't have to put this in evertime. I don't appear to have any other passwords / any WEP codes available. the only other key on the sticker on the box is a wpa key?

The best way to fix the problem is by going into the router interface n getting da wireless encrytpion key(password) from the same.

For a Siemens Gigaset router enter in da address bar of your browser e.g. IE.

You will get to the DSL status windows. Click wireless on the top(next to setup) and then click on wireless security on the left. Here you will get da required info abt the wireless encryption type and da encryption key(password)

It can either be WEP or WPA encryption.Just make a note of the key and enter the same on da Ipod/PDA/Iphone when it demands for da network key or should now be able 2 connect without any problems.

When you say password for your broadband PC Connection, do you mean WEP on the router?

If you have WEP enabled on your router, then this is the "password" that the iPod Touch is referring to when setting up the WiFi connection on the Touch.

If you are trying to use the password that you have on your PC, as in the Windows Login password, this is not going to work.

My wireless router is kicking my wireless off when i connect ipod

There might be an interference that is interrupting the link between your iPhone and your wireless router. Interference can come from other wireless devices that runs on the same wireless frequency that your router is using to communicate with your iPhone.

One way to address this is to change the channel your router is running on. If you don't know how to do this, you may want to contact your router manufacturer to help you do this. You may also reply to this and give us the router brand and model you are using, so we can give you instructions on how you can do this.

Cant connect ipod touch to wifi

try updating the firmware to 2.2. if that does not work.
You may have to reset your Modem + Wifi Router

In my case, if I bring a new device home, my router won't allow it to connect because it is not recognize. Unplug both router and modem, plug them back ( router 1st ) and try again.

This issue never happens to me at home now but it still happens when I go out to bars or restaurant that offers wifi.... Turning off and on the wifi in your ipod touch a couple times usually fixes it.

Ipod touch will not accept my network

Go into General settings, then under Wi-Fi settings make sure it's turned on first, then if you can see the name of your next work, to the right of that you should see a blue small arrow pointing to the right. Click that, at the bottom of that screen your HTTP Proxy should be set to off. If you can see the first 4 boxes have your IP address, subnet, router, and DNS information in there, click Renew Lease and try to connect again. Make sure your password is entered correctly, meaning if you have upper and lowercase letters in your password enter them the same on your ipod. You may need to authurize your Ipod on your router before it will allow it to connect, not sure what type of router you have. Hope this helps Cali

My new itouch will not connect to my new linksys router, wireless-n gigabit router. any ideas?

Make sure that where you are with your iPod, you can get signal for the wireless. Sounds simple but you would be amazed...! Also check the router is set to something like "be visible" or "show to all devices" otherwise you will be unable to find it! Hope this helps!

Connect itouch to wifi

Hi mac42eli,

You need any router or wireless access point to conenct your ipod touch to the internet or even your home network.

These days most wired routers will also have the option of wireless. You can check this by entering the routers configuration page. Usually by typing in into the address bar. Or more simply, google you wired router model to check.

Bluetooth is not currently available for connection in the ipod touch or iphone. The iphone supports it, but for bluetooth headsets. Therefore, regardless of the fact that your mac pro (very nice computer by the way) can support it, your ipod touch can't take advantage of other bluetooth devices.

I hope this helps.
