Question about Dell Studio 17 Notebook
To get this working you need to turn off the Laptop Display in Control Panel > Widows Mobility to watch on TV

I had the same problem when attempting to play BR disks. Neither of the two previous solutions seem to work for me. I have managed to fix this by changing the display settings within the Graphic card set up (have ATI Radeon HD 3650).
1. Right-click on display, choose Graphic Card properties
2. Go to Displays Manager, Display Properties
3. If connected via HDMI to TV, you should see a Main and Cloned display. Drag laptop display to box beneath called: Attached displays currently disabled.
4. Display on laptop should turn off, and remain on TV. Your display is no-longer cloned. Click OK.
After these changes, my disks play OK (ish - another problem).
Hope this helps.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
