Question about Sony WEGA KLV-23M1 23 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
How i fix the problem?, the lcd is brooke?
OK, I removed the lamp assembly to inspect it. The lens appeared to be foggy or have a smokey, burned appearance to it. I compared my lamp to a friends that has the same TV. His was clear and clean looking. I installed his lamp in my TV and it worked like new. I went to Best Buy and Circuit City to get a new lamp, neither one stocks or sells the lamp at the store. You have to go online to order one. It's $220.00 shipped from BestBuy.com.
While I have a new lamp on its way I thought I'd play with the old one a bit. I carefully removed the lens from the lamp assembly and I cleaned and polished the lens to try and remove some of the burned look it has. I noticed after I got the lens out that the bulb reflector inside also has a burned look to it.
So, in cleaning and polishing just the lens I was able to remove about 80% of of the burned appearance. I reinstalled the cleaned and polished lens into the lamp, lamp into the TV and I was amazed. I forgot just how good my pictuire used to be.
I can't wait to get my new lamp and get it back to 100%
