Question about Sewing Machines
Rick - I have a Bernina Active 220 that will not sew when I press the foot pedal. Everything is plugged in however, when I turn it on the LED display is not backlit. It comes on and I can see the stich number and other indicators, but no lighting on the screen. It allows me to select stitches, etc. Additionally, I can sometimes thread a bobbin but that only works intermittantly. Please help!

SOURCE: Bernina 440 stops stitching
see your local dealer and tell them you have a bad power board. or l-print. this is a known issue and bernina is covering it under there 5 year warranty. the 5 volt output is faulty on some some models

Try re-threading the machine and make sure the presser foot is up first as this opens the tension and allows the thread proper entry.

Use a magnifying glass to see if the little hook in the needle threader is bent so that it is not going through the eye of the needle. You might be able to gently bend it back with tweezers.
Make sure that your needle is in the upper most position when you try and the presser foot is down.
