My car stereo/cd player quit working, so I took the sony L410X cd player out of my truck (dont drive it much any more due to gas mileage). The sony worked fine when i took it out of my truck and installed it in my car. I can hear the stereo power up, but it will not turn on or function. I have checked all wiring and fuses, everything is right. This stereo has the detachable face, so i was wondering if this is a anti-theft system at work and requires a code or something to work. I've had it for approx 4-5 years and no longer have any paper work on it, but I think my wife registered it for me when she purchased it - (I think!!)

reset the unit. (use the reset button if it has one or remove all power to it) check the power to any amps you have hooked up and check for short circuited speaker wires (the - wire touching the + wire) all these things will cause you to have no sound.. if that dont work have the unit looked at at a audio shop it might need replaced
are you using any separate amp?- if you are the blue wire on the back of the radio is probably turning off when you use a cd(the blue wire is for a power antenna, the blue with a white stripe is for an amp)
I have a 206 cc with a built in clarion cd and radio, the cd player does not work. my girlfriend has a 307 with the same cd player.I want to swop them both over but when i do they both bleep! this must be the anti-theft device kicking in. How do i swop them? darren fom haworth
