Make sure your safety mode is off. Go to mode 9 and ENT and make sure it is off. If it still dont work you proabably have bad RCA wre or speaker wire. Hope this helps!

My amp won't play bass everything is hooked up

I have a similar problem with my 2012 civic, I hooked up my 1800w kenwood mp to my 2 12" w6s and 1 song plays and sounds great, the rest of my songs have no bass from the subs, just the car speakers sound normal so I dont know what the hell thats all about. I thought it was a wiring issue but I can play the one song all day and it sounds perfect so any suggestions? thanks in advance

My brother just bought an A2300HCX and almost the same thing happen. 1 of the gauges (left side) was no movement. We tryed hooking the amp to the right side, and it works. The Left side turns out was shot, had to get it fixed. So sorry to tell you but sounds like one of the channels has internal damage. Your amp could be in protection mode! Sometimes turning up to high or wires touching will put in protection mode! It will have to be unplugged for a day or two to drain all power out of the memory. Leave accessorie/ignition wire hooked up, just not power and ground wiring. It should reset itself.

Got a 12"kicker L74ohm sub and sony xm-D9001GTR mono amp

Hello juan_penaloz,

The Kicker L7 has an RMS power range of from 50-750 watts and a maximum power handling capability of 1,500 watts so your Sony amp will power it OK. A more powerful monoblock like the Alpine MRP-M1000 or the Kicker 08ZX750.1 would provide even more power and could operate safely at 2ohms.

You have the voice coils wired properly for the Sony amp. It's OK to have the sub impedance higher, but you definitely do not want it lower than the 4ohms the amp is rated at in bridged mode.

Hope this helps.

The amp turns on but goes to protection mode

Have you checked the REM wire, if it is the wiring may have gotten fried.

Or you may need to get new parts replaced within the amp.

Both issues happened to me.

Ground Wire Hook-up

MTX has the hookup diagram here: If you have the original wiring harness, the ground wire is normally black. The amplifier case or chassis is ground connnected on amps I've seen as well.

Amp is getting hot

amp naturally get hot but not hot enough to burn your finger.if all the speakers working,no distorted sound(sound clear),the problem might be the ventilation(free air flow) of amp.check the blower fan if working or check the exhaust holes maybe it is blocked. here are the other reasons; 1.)speaker wires touched the chassis ground. 2.)mismatched speaker to amp impedance. 3)overdrive input or u tap low input(from amp) to high output(of stereo) 4.)ur amp is out of bias. u need an audio technician for this... hope this help u...
