Question about Vizio GV46L 46 in. LCD Television
We have had our new tv for about 6 months and this morning the channels won't change. What do we do? Mine did the same thing about two weeks ago. I've had it for 8 months and it's worked perfectly. Two weeks ago I was watching it during the day and everything was good. Came back that night and the channels wouldn't change unless I manually entered them and the HD channels wouldn't come in. The channel up/down doesn't even work on the TV. For a while if I switched it over to antenna, the channel up/down would work, but now that doesn't even work. Need some assistance - more than just unplugging it.
could it be Ch 9's digital signal is not broadcasting right? what is your refresh rate on your tv? 60 or 120hz? if its 120hz, then its more then likely the digital broadcast, if its 60hz I think its your tv can't keep up with their signal that may be at 120hz. Make since??

It is possible that the pads are worn out or there is damage on the main board, possible carbon track failure . you might need to reform the tracks or use a remote control repair kit to retrack. Also in some cases the controller IC can be defective as it fails to detect the selected port.
