-   I have a DSC-W50 which was purchased in January 2007. The flash has stopped working, error code E91:01 and the "lightning" symbol flash continuously and the Self-timer lamp is permanently ON. I've Initialized the camera several times (Setup 1) and removed the battery for an extended period. It is fully charged. Any suggestions??-   Best peasant

I have the same problem as Memphis Girl. I've checked settings, battery is fully charged, all other functions seem to work and still the flash does not work. I re-initialized as Memphis Girl was instructed. Took a trial picture and surprise---the flash worked. The second picture, same settings, same lighting, the flash did not work. I tried re-initializing again and still the flash does not work. Any suggestions?

Did you try to reinitialize? Setup menu go down to the third Setup#1 menu and make sure you click OK to reinitialize. That's what the manual said.

Well, I have the same camera DSC-W50, and the first time I got the problem with the flash, I read the whole manual, but nothing related about how to fix the flash. Until one day I discovered that when you plug the camera with the cables and into the video and sound plug on any TV, you turn the camera on, and I started to take some pictures, the flash started to work perfectly. I don't know the relationship between the cables for the TV and the flash, but for me this issue is resolved every time when the flash stop working. In 3 years the flash of my camera has been stop working 6 or 7 times and always I do this tip, and after that it works perfectly. Good Luck!

The flash on my Cyber-shot DSC-W50 is not working. I checked settings according to the manual and everything seems fine. I also re-initialized like suggested for Memphis Girl's flash problem. Oddly it worked for once. The second picture I took (same settings and lighting) did not work. I reinitialized again and the flash is still not working. Any suggestions?

I've had my camera for less than a month and already the flash has stopped working. What should I do? Can I fix it myself without taking it in for repairs?

Everything on my Sony Cyber shot works fine, but the flash will not go off. It does not matter which photo mode I am in. If I use the forced flash mode it still does not flash.
