Error message: Can not scan. Not enough space on target disk

The "target disk" has over 100Gig of disk space available. Tried other disk's and get the same message, even tried to "copy" directly to a print... same message? Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

I have just cured this"not enough space on the target disc" on my set up.I had the problem from day one after buying scanner but learned to get around it.Today I went into Toolbox and opened settings and made a note of the target address. Then checked properties of the target folder and found there was 86mb in a space for 80mb.This was the default setting chosen by the installation programme. I went to my documents and made a new folder and called it Canoscan, clicked ok and it became the new target and the fault is gone. Hope it works for others.

When I got into the properties of the canon toobox, I clicked on "customize" and changed the default setting from "documents" to "pictures". It worked!

I want to attax a scanner/printer to my pc, i dont have the disk but ive found a program to download - when ive done that it says i don't have enough c drive space?

Check the space on your c drive then. If you do have enough space available but it still gives you that error then install it in any other directory.
Good Luck!

Have used toolbox 5.0 regularly to scan film negs without a problem until today. Suddenly I get the message "unable to scan. Make sure that there is enough space on the target disk". What does this mean?

Either your hard drive is full, or the program is trying to save to a different drive (CD, flash drive) which doesn't have room for files.

If you're saving as TIF files you may have filled a lot of hard drive space, as they are much bigger than JPG files.

CanoScan 4400F cannot scan not enough space in target disk

Easy fix... Happens all the time with all Canon scanners. Open the tool on settings and change the folder where the temporary files are stored to another folder of your choice...or create a new one in your documents. That's it!

Unable to scan. Insufficient space on Target Disc

Please free up some space on the disk (example C drive) where you are trying to save the scanned image / document.

Let me know what happens.

Video Won't Save

The issue you have posted regarding that you are getting an error message that you cannot save the video because of not enough memory could be related to not enough drive space, I would appreciate if you could perform few steps below to isolate and fix the issue.

  1. Click on start point to My Computer and click on it.
  2. Once the My Compute page is displayed, right click on drive C and left click on properties.
3. Check if there is enough disk space available, if YES then follow the steps below or if NO then try to delete few waste or unused files to crate disk space, and try saving the video file that you were trying earlier.
  1. If you find that there is enough disk space then, try to save the file on the hard drive by selecting a different location, it could be that your are trying to save the file in a location which does not have enough memory or it could be right protected for example a CD.
In order to save the file on to a different location all you need to do is, Click on “File” and click on “Save As” option then in the box which pops up on your screen you need to look for a “Save In” option at the top and change it to “C:” or “Local Drive” and then click on “Save” at the bottom.

Should you require any further assistance regarding your computer related to this or any other issue in future please contact me I will be more than glad to assist you.

Error Message

I had the same problem.Adding twain_32.dll to the Windowsfolder solved the problem. For people who don't want to search for it: Look Here.
Then you won't get this error but one saying to reinstall the printer driver. Just do it and the problem is solved.
