Question about Cell Phones

1 Answer

I just got a LG DVD-Recorder DR6921W, and I was fiddling with the setup, and put some 'Progressive Scan' or something on, and then I couldn't see anything! I can hear everything, but no see. Is there a way to reset it or something? I have read the Owners Manual but I cant find anything in there, and I have un plugged it for 12 hours and still no difference. Help Please!

While going thru the settings on the dvd part of my sanyo dvd/vcr reciever it went to progressive scan mode and now i can't get back to the setup part to turn it off, can you help me?

If your TV has component video inputs then it will work (and give you improved video quality) in progressive mode. If not try leaving it unpluged for several hours to see if it resets itself. Otherwise refer to your owners manual to see how to reset the settings.

PROGRESSIVE LIGHT WAS SET BY MISTAKE, AND IT HAS BEEN SET ON AUTO HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE'S ONLY A BLACK SCREEN AND SOUNDS THAT COMES ON.

According to the operating instructions (page 97), Progressive Scan can be cancelled (or turned off) by pressing and holding PAUSE (on the main unit) continuously for 5 - 10 seconds, until the progressive indicator goes out, or turning it off in the setup menu. Your recorder should now be back to normal interlace video output. I recommend that you check your setup menu after this procedure to make sure nothing 'AUTO' is set, that shouldn't be set, and subsequently turning off any function that isn't required.

HOW DO I GET MY DVD OFF PROGRESSIVE SCAN

You do either of the following; refer to your instruction manual (if you still have it) and look for general output settings to turn off progressive scan, or you can try something much simpler.

On the front of the unit, without a disc inserted, and the drive selected as DVD, press and hold STOP button for 10 seconds (on the unit, not the remote), then release. This may revert progressive scan back to normal interlace for your TV, and thus turn progressive off.

This trick works for Goldstar, Samsung, some LG, Magnavox, and Zenith DVD players. Give it a try before referring to the manual.

RDR-GX315 was accidentally reverted to "Factory Settings" ... now we can get sound but no picture and progressive is turned on and we need to turn it off.

If your TV has progressive scan capability, you may be able to view the on-screen setup menu via the recorder - select 'SETUP' press 'ENTER' on your DVD recorder's remote to bring up the menu - with the remote arrow buttons, scroll down to select 'VIDEO' then 'PROGRESSIVE' - highlight it then set it to OFF (you cannot do this with a TV that does not support progressive scan from this unit). Once done, exit the setup menu and it should work fine with all the other settings. If your TV doesn't have progressive scan, connect the DVD recorder to one which does and turn its progressive output off there. I assume you still have the user manual for your recorder (if not, you can download it online for free as an Adobe document - .pdf. Page 73 details the setup steps for this model). I hope this tip helps somewhat.
