SOURCE: Gateway 450rog cmos battery
The CMOS battery is located on the motherboard, just under the bottom left side of the keyboard, by the letter 'V". It looks like a clock battery, marked 3V (volts). The battery comes out of its "cage/connector" by gently lifting it with a small flat screwdriver. Replacement CMOS batteries are inexpensive and readily available at any computer shop. Hope that helps

It is just below the keyboard under the palm rest. Remove all of the screws from the bottom of the unit, carefully - from the left side, pry up the trim panel that has the power button (careful since the power button board is screwed into this panel), then remove the screws for the keyboard, slide it up towards the LCD to release it, remove its ribbon cable, you should be able to gently pry the upper and lower case halves apart enough to see the battery. The cases will NOT seperate!!!!!!!!! I then used a small straight blade screw driver to pop the battery out. It was a CR 1220 3v lithium coin type battery in my 7330GZ. I had to go to a specialty battery store to get one! Hope that this helps!

Looking at it from the bottom with the dvd drive to your right look for a screw about five and a half inches or so from the right hand side will either be in the middle line of the dvd drive or offset to oneside or the other. remove it and gently pull on the dvd drive or use an old credit card to pry it out till the connectors release. Then slide the replacement drive into place, and put the screw you removed back in.
