Question about JVC AV-32F702 32" TV

1 Answer

JVC AC32F702 I've got a JVC AV32F702 flat screen t.v. I recently started getting 4-6 digital lines across the top of the screen, the quality still looks very good. The screen also started flashing a green background with digital/horizantal lines within the background, and sometimes when it does this it will shut off, the red light on the front panel will blink, and the t.v will not turn on unless unplugged and plugged back in. It doesn't seem to make a differance on how long I wait before I plug it back in. Does this sound like a power supply? Any help is appreciated. Sean

White lines across the top of the screen

It sounds as though you can see Transmission lines which are sent out with any broadcast at the top of an image, The TV should normally blank these out, i suggest checking your horizontal and vertical settings

Horizontal white lines across top problems of my television.

This is probably bad/leaky capacitors in the vertical circuit, around the vertical IC, or the power supply that feeds the vertical. Sometimes you can see domed/ bulged caps or what looks like liquid on the circuit board around the leaky ones. The legs on some caps can even corrode to the point the leg is missing. Care must be taken when replacing them because the acid from the caps can eat away foil traces on the circuit board. All acid must be cleaned off board to prevent further corrosion of parts

Hi I had the same problem. Broken white lines across the top of the screen. This is called overscan. You need to go into the Setup menu, other settings. 16:9 overscan needs to be on. Hope this helps. It solved our problem.

It sounds like a vertical deflection problem. You mentioned you had a white HORIZONTAL LINE in the middle of the screen. If this line runs from left to right across the screen it's in Verticla deflection. If it runs from top to bottom, it's in Horizontal deflection. I am assuming the problem is a Vertical deflaecion problem. The repairs necessary are most likley to replace the vertical capacitors or the verticla deflection chip.
