Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Dull color Pictures are very dull, no reds or bright color at all. When doing the calibrated print is also is very has very dull blue and grays shades only. We have made less then 100 photos and they worked fine, but now all of a sudden we are getting these awful, dull pictures. We are trying to print a few pictures now and we are getting no picture at all. We have new ink cartridges and have cleaned the heads several times and it hasn't helped at all. Any suggestions,

I would say phone or email Kodak as you may have a faulty printhead. If Kodak sayes you have a bad head they will airmail you one overnight and throw in free black and color ink tanks all free of charge.
I have read that some how in making the printhead a run got too hot in process and thus a bad printhead.
Hope this helps

Canon pro 9000 printing not printing vibrant colors

I've had 5 Pro9000 & Pro9000 II's so far. Mechanically sound and fairly heavy duty. Mostly by default they print muddy or muted, with unsatisfactory reds and yellows. The default settings usually suck. I have had to develop my own driver settings and save them to printer profiles for individual situations. There is a lot of control in the driver settings and I recommend making your own color charts for reference, displaying the settings on each page. I also recommend regular nozzle checks and calibration. Avoid cleaning via the driver utility as this wastes a lot of ink, which is all deposited on the bottom of your printer and eventually has to be dealt with. Instead, remove and soak the head. Completely dry before reinstalling.

HP3500 all colors are printing too light - black is gray, blue is light blue, red is pink, etc. All cartridges are full, no error message on printer

Calibration is a printer function that optimizes print quality. If experiencing any print quality problems, calibrate the printer.
  1. Press (Select) to enter the MENUS .
  2. Press (Down arrow) to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE .
  3. Press (Select) to select CONFIGURE DEVICE .
  4. Press (Down arrow) to highlight PRINT QUALITY .
  5. Press (Select) to select PRINT QUALITY .
  6. Press (Down arrow) to highlight CALIBRATE NOW .
  7. Press (Select) to select CALIBRATE NOW .
  8. Wait for the printer to calibrate.
that should solve your problem

The calibration sheet has poor color as well black, gray, blue?

First of all, you only need to calibrate the printer once (when you first set it up).
Second, you can calibrate it on regular paper.
Third, if you can print pictures without a problem, then you should not worry about the calibration page at all.

Dull red on a Xerox Phaser 8400

That normally is a print head issue and replacing the print head is the only resolution I have had that resolves that problem. Sometimes the red will be almost maroon, other times it will be orange.
But is should normally be a pure red.
