I just purchased a NEW Garmin Nuvi 350 system on line through Century_depot. Upon trying to set up the system my husband found that the keys do not function. You cannot add and address and delete back. It may type another number instead of the one pressed. When I emailed Century_depot, they asked that I contact the manufacturer and speak with Technical Support first.
I am not familiar with GPS systems and need all the help I can get.
I did however, have a co-worker look at the system and he said there is a problem with the system.
Sue, If the buttons on your GPS aren't working at all, your unit is likely defective (obviously). The best course of action is to either get a refund and return the unit to "Century_depot", or see if Garmin can provide you with a replacement. Best of luck.

There are two possibilities as to why your GPS is not responding.
The first is to check your System Settings. Although it should not affect your GPS signal, check to see if the WAAS / EGNOS setting was turned off. If so, try turning it back on.
The other possibility is that the Garmin device is not reporting the status of your antenna properly. When the Antenna is closed on the nuvi 350, it disables the GPS functionality. Simply open the antenna to re-enable GPS. If the antenna IS open, there could be a hardware malfunction. This would require contacting Garmin for additional assistance.

Take it to the safe location and it will unlock by itself. Otherwise, you'll have to send it to Garmin with proof of purchase. This is a security feature on the Garmin products to avoid use if they're stolen. If you bought it from a retailer, take it back there and ask for replacement.
The Nuvi 350 is the same for the most part no matter where you purchase it. The only things that can change on the unit are the pre-loaded maps (Europe if purchased there, US and Canada if purchased here) and the languages. The basic receiver is the same. You do have to be careful where you purchase it as theft is rampant, and purchasing from a retailer who is not authorized by Garmin will result in you not having the factory warranty.
