This problem is what I have too, but it's from the back of your PlayStation the metal is chipped, you need another PlayStation, sorry.

try this:
unplug the AC from the PS2 and the wall.
wait a couple minutes before plugging back in and playing.

    First check your adapter(mostly it start problem during long use) that is it ok, if yes the check the flexible strip of power supply. But as precautive measure dont try to fix it by yourself if you are not familer from electronics. Please contact any expert nearby.

Power problem


ok since it could be a number of things 1st always check that the cords are pluged in properly 2nd make shure that you spray the fan in the back with air in a can at least once a month

Problems trying to get my ps2 to fully work.


Your power supply is not giving enough power to the unit. Get a new power supply and you will be fine.

Ps2 turns itself off.

On my PS2 thin the red standby light is on and I push the button to turn it on, the light turns green like usual, but only for a second and then the light completely shuts off as if it was unpluged, after...


Try pulling the power adaptor out of the back of the ps2 ,then make sure no dust or debree is in the part that plugs into the ps2 then plug it back in and make sure its attached firmly. The ps2 should turn on now

Pluged in power cord but the ps2 is not reciving


Seems like a bad power supply on your unit. You can contact your local servicer for that so they can replace or fix that part.
