Re: Error Code 07 301
With IBM Thinkpad,it telling you that some hardware is faulty, check your keyboard to make sure nothing is stuck. Also it could also be your trackpoint. Usually, replacing the damaged part gets rid of the error!
However there is a bypass key sequence that allows your to continue booting the system even though it gives you error. I'm not 100% sure of what it is but somthing like ESC at boot or F1 or maybe your need the boot to the error page then press ok, then when the system comes up again press f1 or esc then. You'll have to play around with the key sequence a bit.
But to get rid of the error forever you need to replace the damaged part!

try to hit pause/break key on bsod to get the error code so that you can check the error, take down the name of the file that is last on that list in the video. It may be software related but you could also have a bad harddrive depending on what the blue screen error code tells you. BSOD Errors are something like this: 0x000000
Try starting up in safe mode. As the computer is starting up click the f8 button repeatedly until the dos screen comes up and asks how you want to start up. Move down to the line with the arrow keys to Safe mode with networking. You then will be able to try doing a defrag. I use the program defraggler myself. http://www.piriform.com/defraggler/download The error code 0142 is a hardware issue with your hard drive. You can also try inserting your OS disk and restarting your computer. As you are booting up click on F12 to select boot from cd. When asked what you want to do tell it to repair.
The three lights flashing is the Dell error code, you can download a table of error codes if you google it.You have to count how many times each light flashes. a Three digit number error code. Then you can fix the computer.
The error indicates that there's a hard drive issue. If it just happened after the hard disk is reinstalled, remove it and reinstall it. It could be a problem caused by loose connection or improper connections. If the same problem repeats, install the hard drive on another system (to verify whether it works on another machine or not and to confirm it still works). If it doesn't work on another computer/system then your only option to run the system is replacing the hard disk. If it works on another computer or if it's detected on another system, then there could be problem with the hard disk, eg. Corrupt Partition, Windows Corrupt etc.... First of all, try booting into Safe Mode. You have to press F8 during the startup to go into Advanced Boot Options. Once you are in the Windows Advanced Boot Options, select Safe Mode using the up and down arrow keys on your keyboard. If it still doesn't work, it's the hard disk issue. Try with another Hard Disk. But if in case you can boot into safe mode, check the Hard Disk for errors. In other words, run Windows Checkdisk utility. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need further help. Good Luck. Thanks for using FixYa.
This error code means that Windows cannot access the boot device. This is caused by an error in the formatting, or operating system files on your boot drive.
you may need to re install windows in the current partition, or re-format your HDD then do a complete re installation of your OS. If you need help with that, feel free to ask me. :)
Check if system is booting in bios. Disconnect external peripherials except keyboard and mouse.Restart the system in safe mode,Do msconfig, disable startup and non microsoft services. If issue persist ran a diagnostics on memory and harddrive.
