Question about Insignia LCDTV26 26 in. Television
I have an Insignia 26" LCD flat screen and it is hooked up to a cable box. It's been functioning perfectly up until the point that there was no sound when using cable. I called the cable company and they said that somehow the mute on the cable box got locked on. While waiting for them to figure it out, I was using the remote for the TV to go through various menus to see if I could detect a problem with the TV itself. They eventually gave me an unlock code for the cable box and the sound restored. However, now, NONE of the controls for the TV work, except the power button. THIS INCLUDE THE CONTROLS ON THE TV ITSELF!!!! The volume doesn't work, the menu button doesn't work. The input button doesn't work. I have never heard nor seen anything like it. My only control now is through the cable remote, which doesn't work particularly well with Insignia TV's. At this point, I can't even watch a DVD because I can't get the TV to switch inputs. PS, I've tred unplugging it for several minutes to reset it. No go! HELP!!!!
I have the same problem as the rest of everyone, too bad Insignia hasn't issued any help anyone that owns their TV over one year. I guess they don't make TV's to last more than 1 year anymore for your $$. I couldn't believe Best Buy continues to sell this disposable HD LCD flat screen when I saw them on the shelf still today.
Anyways, if someone find out that the cost is reasonble to fix this, please relay, thanks "burnt" consumer

I have this EXACT SAME problem with my Insignia 26" LCD TV. I was three weeks out of warranty when it happened and Insignia wouldn't do anything to help me. I brought it to three repair shops and each repairman said that they couldn't guarantee they could fix it even IF they got the right parts. Anyhow, the TV repairman had it for three months (getting parts shipped from Asia, repair time, etc.) and he couldn't fix it. He also told me that tons of other people have the issue and that Insignia is replacing their TVs under warranty. So, if your TV is still under warranty, call Insignia. You just have to pay for shipping and shipping insurance. Hope this helps!
