Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

Can't connect to wireless xbox360 live

When setting up, I get to "enter DNS server" & my entry 192.168.1.1 is always rejected. It asks for a secondary server also, I ignore this. Should I enter the same DNS details for this server also?
My ISP is TalkTalk.

You need to contact your ISP. I have never heard of TalkTalk, but if its a DNS problem, its your ISP.

My laptop wont connect to my wireless router, it just says acquiring network address all the time, it does connect to other wireless routers though?

To connect a laptop to a wireless network for accessing internet....you have two ways:-
1. DHCP (Dynamic Host Control Protocol) 2. Manual entry of settings in wireless adapter properties.
1.DHCP:- In DHCP method you dont have to enter any settings on the wireless adapter. The wireless network which you are connecting will automatically assign an IP Address to you. But to use DHCP it must be supported by your wireless network router settings.
2. Manual entry of settings in wireless adapter properties. This method is mostly used over wireless Connection in small networks connecting 2-200 computers. In this method you have to obtain the following information from your connection provider.
* IP address (Its format is "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx") * Default gateway address (very important) * Primary and secondary DNS (If not given then you can use "8.8.8.8" as primary DNS and "8.8.4.4" as Secondary DNS...thats free DNS service from google and its very fast) * Subnet Mask (not needed mostly...automatically generated)
To enter these settings you have to rightclick the Wireless Adapter>> and select properties>>Then double click the Internet Protocol version 4(TCP/IPv4) and enter these settings. In many cases when you are using proxy server then you have yo use proxy settings also in your browser..
Hope this will help 4 sure....Cheers..:)

Xbox connected through network cable to pc ! what do i need to perform on pc through my wireless usb port connected to go online

If you are running Windows Vista on your PC here is how you can route your XboX360 through your PC/Laptop in order to get on Xbox Live Wirelessly:

1. Set up a Static IP address in Vista. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Network & Sharing Center -> Manage Network Connections

2. Right-click on Local Area Connection and go to Properties

3. Double-click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IPv4)

4. Set the option to "Use the following IP address"

IP Address: 192.168.100.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: blank

5. Just to be safe, also set the options to "Use the following DNS Server Address"

Preferred: 208.67.222.222
Alternate: 208.67.220.220

(You may use your ISPs DNS entries also, these are just the OpenDNS ones that should work for everyone)

6. Under the "advanced" tab, you need to check "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection."

7. Right-click on your wireless connection, go to properties, click the "advanced" tab and check the same box to allow other users to share the connection.

8. On your Xbox360 go to the network configuration menu and enter the following settings:

IP address: 192.168.100.5
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.100.1

DNS1: 208.67.222.222
DNS2: 208.67.220.220

Now you should be able to get on the internet with your Xbox as it will be using your PC/Laptop's wireless connection.

Connect ps3 to laptop via web and walk

Connecting PS3 to a network I have LinkSys wireless router which is working perfectly for other devices (like laptop, Xbox360, TiVO). My wireless network is configured to NOT broadcast the SID and with a WEP key. After entering this manually in the network setup on my PS3, I was able to obtain an ip address from my router, I was able to open the configureation page on my router, but connecting to the internet would fail with some kind of DNS error. The way this was resolved for me, was to enter the DNS server addresses manually in the PS3 network settings AND use tetertiary DNS server from my ISP as either the primary or the secondary DNS server. ..btw, this also fixed the similar problem I had with my PSP.. Thanks!

Finally the DNS problems I had with connecting my PS3 to my network has been resolved. I have LinkSys wireless router which is working perfectly for other devices (like laptop, Xbox360, TiVO). After entering this manually in the network setup on my PS3, I was able to obtain an ip address from my router, I was able to open the configureation page on my router, but connecting to the internet would fail with some kind of DNS error. The way this was resolved for me (and I know someone else mentioned it in an other post here), was to enter the DNS server addresses manually in the PS3 network settings AND use tetertiary DNS server from my ISP as either the primary or the secondary DNS server. Voila... I am upgrading my PS3 software as I write this.... ..btw, this also fixed the similar problem I had with my PSP.. Thanks!
