KithchenAid Range KERS807SSS000 Problem--just like the Nov 30th one.
The oven control panel is dead. The cooktop works. It's about 15 months old. I wasn't running a self-clean before it failed. Is there a way to confirm it's the thermal fuse (rather than the control panel itself) before replacing? Can you give any guidance on how to get to the fuse? Thanks a ton for your help--my wife is desperate for a quick repair before New Years!

Welll although oyour not running self clean, its possible you have a bad fuse. youll need to pull unit out and get behind to check the fuse for continutity, its a small (quarter sized thermostat) wioth 2 wired leading in and out of it, should have asticker with blue& white stripes on it.heres the part number if needed 9759242

Execute following sequence to force cooktop reconfiguration (Be sure the good ESEC20 UIB is installed into the cooktop)
1-Put all rotary control to the first detent position clockwise (1 o'clock).
2-Put all rotary control to the first detent position counterclockwise (11 o'clock). The system should then reconfigure, showing walking dashes on the cooking zones displays.
3-Put all rotary controls to "Off" position. There should be no more error code and the cooktop is ready for operation. Frigidaire Range Stove Oven Surface Element Board 318329620Frigidaire Range Stove Oven Oven Control Board 318347100

Is the control panel completely dead?? If the cooling fan under the cooktop was not working, in most cases the main control board or control transformer if it is separate will get heat damaged and need replaced. That cooling fan is there to keep everything from over heating mainly during clean but should come on during normal baking if it gets too hot under the cooktop.
I had the same problem with a new kitchenaid range which they have agreed to replace after 1 month. Oven shut off a couple times while baking and feature not available displayed when trying to turn on oven again. I tried starting clean cycle and waiting a couple minutes for element to heat then cancelled clean cycle. Oven worked fine after this but this shouldnt be a solution, obviously something not wired right.
I live in a new 500 home subdivision. The contractor ordered all Whirlpool Gold products including Electric and Electric/Gas Ranges. Many of my neighbors' panels have gone out! I'm talking about epedemic trouble. My son has had his oven panel (separate from stovetop) fail within the first year. Thank God it was under warranty...this is not a cheap replacement (he had the sensor touch pad. I just had my oven pad fail. I tried to set the clock for Daylight Savings and found out half my panel is out! The fix is a replacement of the panel. Depending on which model (push or sensor) look to spend at least a couple of hundred bucks. We have the Whirlpool Gold microwave panel and so far so good. My neighbor and my son's both went out! They just tossed the two year old products and replaced them with another brand. Sorry to break you the news...class action anyone?
