The problem is either poor solder connections on the convergence ICs ore defective ICs. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Be aware however, of dangerous high voltages that are present even with the set unplugged. The ICs are STK392-120s and should be attached to a large heatsink. Try resoldering the pins first. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the ICs.

You can order the part from Tritronicsinc.com for somewhere around $25. There are other suppliers as well. Any electronics parts supplier should be able to supply these. The STK number is the generic part number. The specific Philips number I don't have at the moment, but getting the part from Philips will just cost more.

This is blue CRT problem in tv as it is rear projection tv that has three CRTs red-green-blue inside to project color picture on front screen.
Blue CRT (tube) will be replaced to fix the issue and it is job of Pro because lots of adjustments are required after replacement of tube.
Local tv repair shop will help you for that.
Thanks

Halo around blue, extremely bad when watching

The CRT coolant in the Blue CRT needs replacement. The green will soon follow. Very common problem with phillips. You can get the phillips CRT coolant kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which contains the coolant and the CD with instructions.

That color won't work good. On RPTVs, Red bad = blue-green pic; Green bad = purple pic; blue bad = yellow pic.

I have a phillips 50pp920217 tv and the problem is that one lens or lamp its burned. AT the bottom the pictures has a wave and shadow of color red.

Sounds like some of the coolant has been lost. Refill with the same glycol based coolant as original.

Sounds like the screen asy has failed causing the color to change from black and white, turn your color all the way down and see it the picture is green, blue,or red,if so the asy is bad or the tubes are getting alittle weak, the asy is in front of the set behind the speaker grill, there is a access panel to remove and the asy has 6 controls to adj.,only move the ones that are marked screens below them, this asy is black and is only 4 inches square,do not move any adj. on the tubes
