Hate to give you some bad news...But most likely you have a defective screen. You may be lucky and just have a bad T-con board. Which will do the same thing. But, this is a slim chance of it being the issue. As I have had many of these with bad screens. And only 2 were the T-con board which the color was off and pict was darker than normal. It is the board at the top center of the TV.
Try another input on the set, if you have on screen display set is working to some degree, also try to unplug set and or box or other gear hooked to it for a while and power back to allow all to reboot or try to===problem is NO video or no rastor if menu comes on screen. Also please check which input the set is currently on......
Hi, My guess is your daughter messed it up. Go to menu and color and reset to default should fix it. You may have to adjust color for your best viewing. Good luck.
Hi if your tv is a Dlp or Lcd it will be a problem with the light engine.Basically there's 3 chips green, blue, red that create the image and colors. When they start to go bad or melt you will get color discoloration on corners on the center. You will need to replace the optical block ,you can find it on www.discount-merchant.com www.shopjimmy.com or ebay .Have a blessed day!
I will assume from you description that this is a rear projection crt(picture tube) tv. if this is true I have good news/bad news.
faint red horizontal bowed lines in the picture indicate the screen(G2) voltage for the red tube is too high.Slight lowering of the G2 adjustment will eliminate these lines. I stress SLIGHT because too much adjustment will mess up the gray scale .
The bad news the red crt made be bad. if the adjustment works but in the future the problem reappears then suspect the red crt.red crt replacement is probably not economical to repair.
Versed, you have to open the back panel (cover) to access the lamp. replacing is easy as soon as you can see it. loosen the mounting bolt and pull to unplug the lamp from the SMPS Lamp power supply. Thats it.
From what you're describing your focus block is probably failing JVC p/n#129P059050. It's probably also very vibration sensitive. They're about $80.00 dollars and they are also interchangeable with the Mitsubishi focus pack p/n#920p016010. Not a difficult repair - we do about 5-6 a month. Real easy in-home repair.
Hope this helps.
Bill
sound like you have 1 or a couple of leaky/bad capacitors in the tv's vertical circuit, typically, there sould be 5 to 10 caps. in all, but you just need 1 bad one to cause your problem.
good luck.
