twice this year while on a website the screen went blank and an official looking security center logo popped up saying we found 39 virus and malware issues, click here for removal. i did and a security site opens that locks on that page and will not let you escape.your problem can be fixed by paying $49.95 to a london england company.could not get off the site by any means.pulled the plug same page popped up after many attemps finally got into backup and restore, and cured the problem, the last time it popped up i immedietly went to restart, no more problems, hope this info saves somebody else a headache.

How can I remove the barrier to install a second optical drive

Two things have to be done in order to add a second optical drive.
1. Open case, remove front cover of case.
2. Remove blank from lower optical drive from front of case - remove blank (chassis part) from optical drive space.

The black insert that can be seen, removes from back on this model.
The 'steel' part on the chassis should pop out fairly easily.

I am testing my system with the diagnostic program, and now I am stuck with the message "The current timing is not supported by the monitor display. Please change your input timing to 1920x1080@60 Hz...

Right click on a blank area of the destop screen and select properties from the menu that pops up, adjust your monitor settings and refresh rate to that suggested and see if it helps. dont worry if you press something wrong and cant see properly, just dont press anything and the settings will revert back after 15 seconds.

I have just brought a new pack of blank CD's, i am

Its a common problem with CDs. Check that your CD drive can PLAY CDs. If so either the CD drives optical head is dirty or your CD pack are low quality. CDs damage real easy. Try putting another CD, another brand or you must use CD doctor-something like that. Did that help

Please insert a disk into drive

You can only copy files to a blank disk by using programs like NERO or by using a re-writeable disk like DVD-RW which you can format and use it like a hard drive. You need also burner not an ordinary DVD or CD player.

I agree. The monitor probably blew a capacitor.
Time for a nice new LCD monitor.
