1989 chevy 2.8l v6 MPFI injectors have no signal on the noid light. The car starts with starting fluid sprayed into intake and actually runs until starting fluid is consumed. if I place a rag in the intake hole and spray it with starting fluid it will run longer so it seems to be a fuel injector issue to me. I get 16.8 ohms across injectors and with injector plugged into harness I get positive 12 volts on both sides of the other injector harness connectors. Also when I disconected the injector harness to ECM connector from side of manifold I got voltage on pink/black wires but no voltage on light green or blue wires (which should be the ground pulse wires from the ECM).

I even disconnected all injectors and tried a noid light with no luck.

Turned out to be oxidation of ECM connectors contacts.

Look for a bad ground, you can try running a new ground from the battery to the body, i had an 89 corsica that would not fire until i ran the new ground wire.

SOURCE: We have a 2000 Chevy S-10 pick-up,that wont start.

Have you put the car on an OBD scanner to see if there are any errors present. Even if there is no CEL light - the bulb could be burned out or removed.

Injectors require (acidic) pressurized equipment to clean.
This is not really an option open to the do-it-yourselfer because it requires special equipment that can cost anywhere from $4,000 to $8,300. Because of that and the labor involved, a shop may charge you $40+ per injector for removal and cleaning. (Makes you long for the good old days of carburetion, doesn’t it?)
But it’s a lot cheaper than spending at least twice that to replace ruined injectors with new ones, which is what happens when an injector becomes hopelessly clogged. And injectors can be tested, observed, and compared off the car. An injector that’s not passing as much liquid as the others can be re-cleaned. If that doesn’t work and the injector must be replaced, the injector that needs to be replaced is easily pinpointed.
When cleaning injectors, fuel varnish should also be removed from the throttle body and intake tract with an aerosol cleaning solvent. Intake valves and combustion chambers should also be cleaned using a “top cleaner” type of product, especially on engines that burn oil. Replace the spark plugs after performing any kind of engine cleaning; also change the oil and filter.

SOURCE: 1994 chevy suburban, no fuel coming from fuel

Put an injector noid light at the injector plug terminals to see if your getting a signal from the PCM(computer). If not try to find a computer from the same vehicle that works and swap it into yours to check.A PCM swap will take about 15minutes.

SOURCE: injectors not opening or "flashing" on 1989 camaro

There are a few possible causes of the blocked fuel injector in your car: mechanical failure; electrical problems; damage caused by overheating; and the most common reason, blockage caused by grime. The best way to avoid injector problems is to take your car in for regular maintenance and use the occasional fuel additive specifically designed to keep fuel systems clean

1996 Altima cranks, won't start

First, never use starting fluid on a gasoline engine. Check for dirty air filter, then check for Mass air flow sensor (Fault code) . This sensor controls fuel mapping, bad signal here will cause over fueling (black smoke) also called loading up (rich). Stopped up Air filter will affect Mass air flow. Perform OBD II test to prevent buying unneeded parts. Also delete stored codes.
