A known issue with the cookie. The cause of this is believed to be a firmware issue that master resets the phone everytime you turn it off. I would try to update the phone with the latest firmware and see if this resolves the issue. Please post back if you have trouble finding instructions on updating the firmware. However if the firmware update does not work then this is probably an issue with the CMOS chip on the phone and it is not user servicable. Contact LG for repair/replacement as ginko and others have suggested.

You will have download the LG PC suite to sync your phone with you PC. After that select connection type. I would recommend USB as Bluetooth will screw up the phone if it disconnects during the upgrade. After that you will have to just click on the update software option usually found in the tools menu. The in-built help file contains detailed instructions on upgrading the firmware. Be sure to follow them carefully. LG is a bit too stingy as far as the updates are concerned so if this is the case with your phone as well run to your nearest LG store for a replacement.

Sir,

Take the battery out of the phone and lay the flat side down to a flat surface and try to spin the battery. If the battery starts to spin(without alot of effort) it shows the battery is starting to swell and is bad.
Also make sure you have the latest version of the firmware.

It is the defective model of phone, i searched the review in the internet, most of the peoples have same problem so try to better replace the phone, if u have warranty....

thanks
good luck

This is a software problem on your phone, what you can do here is to try doing a software update on this unit and that should fix the problem if not a repair or replacement is better if this is still under warranty,,,,

That means that the internal battery myst be replaced, also ensure the connection to power is fine.

Hi, I can see the problem was concerning an LG Cookie (I-Phone Nano), and not t.he phone selected in title.

In this case the problem is slightly different.

If when you turn the LG Cookie, there is no battery charge, then the internal battery must be replaced.

If there is charge, but the phone resets, that can be a short or a fault on the on switch, or a again, a short on the internal battery wiring, that resets the phone to factory each time you start.

Also a defective memory card can cause the phone to lose all data , try a different memory card.

The phone must be new, if all the bove do not fix the problem, call the phone number listed on the manual to get the phone replaced.

Hi there, this appear to be a factory defect on LG cookie.

Try replacing mem card, and performing a reset from setting menu, this won't probably work, as phone is defective.

    LG will replace the phone.

See here for more user with the same problem, defective phones had been replaced.

Are u saying the power is completely off to the phone? if so you are erasing the data because the keep alive memory is most likely volatile, which means it must remain in standby mode to retain owner settings.

unless the system has a USB port u can't update the firmware, and firmware would not cause this problem, u did not answer my question about the power to the phone so the answer must be that it does have a non volatile memory, in that case the unit must have a defect in a non-volitile memory chip, this is most likely the issue and replacing the phone is the best option.

Hai my lg kp500 cookie phone touch pad is not working please send any solution

First of all remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Use a hair dryer to warm up the battery compartment so as to warm up the set lightly. Now replace only the battery after about 15 minutes back into the phone and switch on. If the phone boots up and comes alive with a touch pad working, then reset phone to factory settings, connect your phone to PC to have a virus scan . Also now have your memory card scanned for virus, remove files and format.
If however the fault stays then you might have to contact Samsung to have the software reinstalled.

Cookie wont start up, stuck on lg logo then restarts itself again.

You need to make a soft reset or even a hard reset to your phone.
Soft reset:
For that, you need to know the ResetCode (usually 0000 if you don't change it):
Go to Setting - Phone Settings - Reset Settings - press ResetCode - Confirm

Hard Reset:
Dial 1809#*500# and choose Factory reset.
WARNING!: There will be no supplementary interrogation about if you continue or not! Besides this, performing hard reset, you will lose all data stored on internal phone memory. Be sure to save any unsaved data within a running application before performing a hard reset.

Good luck!

I dont know the reset password of my lg cookie phone

When you have some problems with your lg secret, Do you know how to hard reset or factory reset the lg secret?
You can go to LG Secret's "Settings", then "reset settings", the reset code of the LG Secret was just 0000 (4 x zero). This reset the LG Secret phone, although i backed everything up i didnt lose any files but all the menus, themes etc were set back to default.
