When you said you tried resetting, did you mean you clicked on the reset button inside the hardware or did you mean you just rebooted?

* If you clicked on the rest buttion, then you need to configure again from scratch. Not sure if your data will still be available though.

* If you just rebooted, then the problem may lie in your LAN configuration. Do the following:

1. Try to ping the device using a PC connected to the same network.
2. If you are using DHCP, your device may just have been assigned a different IP. Try to ping all devices in your network or use a network scanner (e.g. SoftPerfect) to find out the IP address given to it.
3. Once you get the IP address, assign a static IP address to your device that is beyond the DHCP scope. This will ensure that your IP does not change and you will not have a conflict with DHCP assigned IP's.

    Hello Everybody,

I had the same problem here. I phoned D-Link customer care and a guy said, do the following
(I have the A2 hardware version, but he could only make the appropriate firmware available to me when I told him my 313's serial number):
1.: Download the latest software for your device (mine is here: ftp://ftp.dlink.hu/dns/dns-313/driver_software/ClickNConnect/dns-313_DCC_1.03b04_V2.zip - this for A2 hardware)
This package also contains the Click n connect software
2.: Turn off any Firewalls (he said easy search utility sends Boradcast packages witch are denied in almost all firewalls, including WinXP's firewall). That's why had I never found DNS-313 with easy search before... if you afraid of turning the firewall off then disconnect from the internet and use your cable to connect the NAS to your computer directly . I did so.
3.: Turn on the device with HDD inside and run click n connect. Follow the on screen instructions.

First time I made a mistake by choosing the wrong answer on that page when 3 possibilities are there. I had to format the HDD but since then it is working.

A strange thing that the guy said: DNS-313 _do not_ store firmware in an onboard chip, it is stored on the HDD. Furthermore, if your device hasn't got a hardware failure and your HDD is supported than you can reach your data with an USB cable. So if you have firmware problems simply backup all your data from the disk then reformat with click n connect and a firmware will be installed by the program.

I hope I could help someone solving their problem!

I'd try two things. Boot in Safe Mode with Networking and disable all firewalls, see if you find the NAS. Your issues sure screams firewall configuration to me.

You can try a couple of things, easy thing is to reset the NAS server by unplugging it and allowing it release its leased IP address, assuming that it is setup for DHCP. Once this is reset it should grab another IP address. If you remenber setting it up for a static IP, then you could do a google search for an IP scanner http://www.radmin.com/products/utilities/ipscanner.php or find one that you are comfortable with download and install look for device on your network that will give you your IP to the NAS server. Good luck

What is the firmware version of DNS-323? Many bugs were fixed in recent firmware revisions. You can see your version in the top right corner in the web interface after you log-in. See on the D-Link website if there is a newer firmware available.
When it doesn't work, what you have to do to make it work? Reboot windows? Or reboot the DNS-323? It can also be issue with your firewall or Windows configuration. Which Windows version do you use?

I read that there are problems in some applications if you use only one disk in the 323. Try to move your disk to the other slot to see if this fixes your problem. Alternatively (if u have the money), you can try buying another hard disk of same brand/model and install it on the other slot.

You can then try setting up your device as a RAID1 or bigger (not recommended) JBOD configuration

I try to connect DLINK dns 323 to WD TV by USB cable but it not work how can i solve this

The USB port on the D-Link DNS 323 NAS is for a printer only. It won't work with your WD TV. Your best bet would be to plug the WD TV into a PC that is connected to your network along with the D-Link DNS 323 NAS and serve your media files that way.

Check if the disk is NTFS or FAT32 or some other format. Because if it is in raw format you are dead! Also another tip is call the merchant you bought the USB from. Because if you buy things online, sometimes the product is bad quality. Another solution that saves time is to change to another USB.

Freecom network drive corrupted

Sounds like it needs re-formating.

You might try> http://www.freecom.com/ecSupport.asp

Look through there to see if they have a utility that can sort the problem out....
Or a FAQ section where there might be a bit of help with the problem...

These drives need to be in open air or they can overheat and stop working.

Right click on the F:\ ,click format.

Look to see if the details of the drive are in the window.

Capacity ? 150gb ? or something close.
File system NFTS ?

If these details are there you can format the disk again.
