Re: Can not access Dlink DNS313
When you said you tried resetting, did you mean you clicked on the reset button inside the hardware or did you mean you just rebooted?
* If you clicked on the rest buttion, then you need to configure again from scratch. Not sure if your data will still be available though.
* If you just rebooted, then the problem may lie in your LAN configuration. Do the following:
1. Try to ping the device using a PC connected to the same network.
2. If you are using DHCP, your device may just have been assigned a different IP. Try to ping all devices in your network or use a network scanner (e.g. SoftPerfect) to find out the IP address given to it.
3. Once you get the IP address, assign a static IP address to your device that is beyond the DHCP scope. This will ensure that your IP does not change and you will not have a conflict with DHCP assigned IP's.

ok first prep. we need to configure your router. to do that we need your compaq laptop directly connected to the dlink via ethernet cable. after securing the connection, try to open a browser, whether internet explorer or mozilla firefox. go to the address bar and type in, 192.168.1.1 it would ask you now for a username. username is " admin " password is " password " if it wont let you in, try "admin" for password. if it still cant, try to live it blank and just click on login. it would take you now to the dlink router page. there you can configure your wireless connection and set your network name. make sure to click apply settings after configuring it. then try to check your wireless connectivity again. this should work.
Hi if your disk drive/cd drive is not working and you cant use the disk then all you need to do is go to google search and type in the following
type in either of these: free firmware for dlink 615 or free drivers for dlink 615 then hit search this will then list loads of sites that will let you download what you need for this device for free, now if you have to download them off another computer you need to download it onto a usb stick so as your computer can get the drivers put onto it.
if you can access the internet from your own computer then just download the drivers or firmware then it will install it for you, it might be worth typing in what os your using such as vista or windows 7 into the search as this will find the exact copy you need.
most sites will ask what operating system your using before it lets you download
have a go and you should find you will have no problems
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
I read that there are problems in some applications if you use only one disk in the 323. Try to move your disk to the other slot to see if this fixes your problem. Alternatively (if u have the money), you can try buying another hard disk of same brand/model and install it on the other slot.
You can then try setting up your device as a RAID1 or bigger (not recommended) JBOD configuration
The USB port on the D-Link DNS 323 NAS is for a printer only. It won't work with your WD TV. Your best bet would be to plug the WD TV into a PC that is connected to your network along with the D-Link DNS 323 NAS and serve your media files that way.
My first guess is that your Dlink ADSL modem is really a modem router, so you are getting double routing. Sometimes this works just fine, though, so I'm not confident that's the whole explanation. You'll need to setup your IP plan carefully set the D-Link modem(router?) to bridging mode & the DLink wireless router does the login to Exetel. DLink wireless router WAN side: DHCP + login to Exetel DLink wireless router LAN side: 192.168.0.1 Subnet 255.255.255.0 DHCP on: range 192.168.0.10 to .20 DNS Servers: 18.104.22.168, 22.214.171.124 with PC's wireless adaptor set to DHCP so picks up eg: IP address: 192.168.0.10 Gateway address: 192.168.0.1 DNS Servers: 126.96.36.199, 188.8.131.52
OK!! I figured it out!! Ok you need to go to the Dlink web site, cursor over to the tech support tab, on the drop down select DOWNLOADS, enter your Dlink wireless adaptor version(you'll need the box for these steps), ok now in the new window click downloads, choose and download the 130 one not the beta version, have a flash usb ready and save all downloaded files to ur usb flash, next insert your usb flash on ur laptop, open my computer select ur removable drive and double click the dlink software, after you do this it should bypass that prompt screen and you'll be able to continue your setup for your Dlink wireless adaptor.........hope it works for you cause it worked for me.....
