Maybe you just need the drivers updated
could have been accidently uninstalled
if that don't work do a system restore to an earlier date when you know the pc worked
right click my computer then properties you'll find system restore in there
then restart pc and see if that helps

How can we check that ram is working properly or not

dear atul.
if the ram is not working then your PC will not boot at all. If it is booting then there is no problems with the ram.
one possiblilty with ram not working properly is that it will show the wrong amount of RAM in the system information, like if you have installed 512 MB of Ram and it is showing 356 or less then there is a problem, but you have to be sure that you installed 512 MB of Ram. this could be due to FSB speed.

To check this goto Control Panel > System > "General Tab"
here you can see all your computer specifications like
1 Which windows are you using
2 whom is it registered to.
3 Processor, Type, Speed, RAM etc.

if it is not showing the correct amount try changing it with a new one.

Thanks

I have a Dell Latitude D830. How do I disable touchpad when using usb connected mouse?

Disabling a touchpad is not required while you are using a USB mouse.
however if you wanted to do it, follow the steps given below depending on your windows

If it is XP follow the following steps

1)Right click on my computer Icon
2)Click on Manage
3)In the left side of this window click on device manager
4)In the right side of the windows you will see the device manager
5) In the device manager screen click on the plus sign adjacent to mice and other pointing devices
6)Now you should be able to see the touchpad listed there.
7) Right click on the touchpad and choose disable.

Note: remember to enable it before you disconnect your mouse, without the mouse enabling it back will be a challenge with your keyboard.

If it is vista / windows 7

Click on start or windows pearl
type device manager and click on the device manager appearing on top of the menu.
and then follow from step 5.

ACER laptop keyboard skips when typing on Internet email (Hotmail or Yahoo), seems to be fine on Word?

Your browser is lagging behind. You may be low on RAM. This happens often when you have multiple tabs/windows open. Some browsers require more resources than others, I'm not sure how they compare.

It could also be low bandwidth; either you have a poor connection or are downloading a lot (via frostwire or utorrent or something) or uploading.

If you're running 768+ MB of RAM on Windows XP, you're fine. That's unlikely to be the cause.

If you're running 1.5+ GB of RAM on Windows Vista/7, you're fine.

Due to how IRQs are processed, the fact that it works fine in word but not via the internet suggests your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc) is the problem. Try installing the latest version of whatever browser you use. If this doesn't work, try installing an older version. lol.

I deleted too much from regetit files and now the keypad and touch pad dont work! how am i able to repair it???

Make sure you are connected to the internet so that the computer will have access to windows update if it needs it. Go to the control panel > device manager (windows xp has the device manager in system) scroll down to both the keyboard and mouse (pointing devices) and highlight the devices. Now right click on them and choose uninstall. Once both devices are uninstalled, reboot. When windows reboots, it will re-install both devices and search windows for the files if it needs them. Try the touchpad and keyboard

Touchpad and cursor keys quit working

I used to get this problem. It is VERY annoying as you must know. try pushing the windows icon button in the top right corner of your keyboard(thats where it is on my keyboard)then use your arrow keys to scroll up to control panel, select mouse by using arrow keys and then use the tab and arrow keys to open the mouse keypad pagetab and push enable and enter key to turn it on.
IF WHEN YOU DO THAT AND your in the touchpad properties but there is no 'enable' and it says no hardware detected, then go into the same mouse window from the control panel and go to the hardware tab and either try to update driver or use the trouble shoot button.

Hope this helped =]

Keyboard type

This problem is very common on laptop computer. What happens is while you type on the keyboard, your hand comes close to or touches the touchpad below the keyboard. The system see that as a mouse click and so your cursor will 'jump' to whatever location on the screen the mouse pointer is at.

This can happen, even if you do not feel your hand touch as the touchpads are sensitive enough to respond to your hand bring just above them.

Gateway and most manufacturers have addressed this common user frustration on new models of laptops by either adding some 'palm detection' to their touchpads and drivers or adding a simple way to turn the touchpad on or off.

Depending what model system you have (solo 9100 vs 9150) and what operating system you are running, you may have a few options.

First off, you must be using Windows 98 to have access to these options in the touchpad driver.

For a solo 9100 you have adjust to touchpad sensitivy. To get to the touchpad settings click Start->Settings->Control Panel. Double click on the MOUSE icon. Click on the TOUCHPAD tab. On this tab you can set the threshold setting as heavy as possible to help decrease the frequency at which the mouse will jump while typing. In the solo 9100 models, this is the only setting that addresses this problem.

For the solo 9150 you can the disable clickin while typing. To get to this setting: Click on START->Setting->Control Panel. Double Click on the MOUSE icon. Click on the TOUCHPAD tab. In the TAPPING section, Place a check mark next to Disable tapping when typing.

If these settings do not help or are not available due to another operating systems etc, then your best option is to physcially cover the touchpad when you are doing things that require a lot of tyings. If you need a lot of mouse/typing, then you can add an external mouse to assist you. I have found that placing a post-it note over the touchpad is more convenient then other barriers since it light sticks to help it stay in place.
