Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 Digital Camera

2 Answers

Overexposure, Underexposure I have had my camera (Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1) camera for 2 years. Over the past year I have had difficulty with underexposure and overexposure mostly when taking pictures indoors, even with the exposure set to normal (0). I can take a picture of my kids, one of them will be overexposed, the next one underexpsoeed, and if I am lucky, I might get a good one every now and then. Is this fixable? Help! I have two small children and taking good pictures of them is important to me. Hello - did you get a solution to this? We have the same problem, after a similar amount of time with a TZ1. Thanks in advance.

The pictures are often too dark but sometimes too light. I have now found a work-around for this problem. It consists of doing the following:

* set the sensitivity to ISO 100
* set the flash to "A"
* take a picture with the lens cap on
* remove the lense cap and take your pictures - they should come out fine

I don't know why this works but I think that when the TZ1 does not have enough information to compute a shot, it will rely on information from previous shots. Taking a picture with the lens cap on may reset the information in the camera so that it does not rely on previous shots. Setting the ISO to 100 will prevent the over exposed shots as the software may sometimes choose ISO 400

I got a zs3 (very similar) on ebay with a similar problem. The only workaround seems to be, hold onto the shutter button for a long time so the sensor has time to find the exposure. I returned my used camera (bought on ebay) due to this problem.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS15 will not connect to pc and will not charge. Bad card on camera?

Are you turning the camera power on when you attempt to charge the battery? The camera power needs to be "OFF" when charging. When connecting the USB cable to your computer the camera must be "ON" and in the "PC" mode. Hope this helps.

How come Panasonic does not guarantee their own product?
I have had many cameras in my life and this is a first one with this type of problem. My friend bought the same type just one step better ZS8 at the same time and he is facing the same problem as well, within one year just past the warranty like me. Is it really a water spot? It is getting smaller, when I zoom in and it is moving to the side while I'm zooming in. Is it on the sensor or is it on the lens? Is there any Panasonic reply to this problem?

Just finished charging the battery of my Panasonic DMC-LX2. Attempted to turn on my camera but it doesn't work. The battery is completely charged and this has never happened before.

Hello....I have the same issue with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 camera we bought 3 years ago. All of a sudden the camera doesn't work. I have had many cameras and I have never seen this before. I will think twice about buying a panasonic again.
