Check the file system format on the flash drive (possibly FAT32) and have the hard disk drive formatted with the same file system.

Note that Windows can not format with FAT32 any hard drives that are bigger than 32 gb, you will need to do it in MAC OS or in other operating systems that support formatting large hard disk drives with FAT32.

It has an audio input, a 3.5mm cable you can connect to the headphone or speaker jack on your computer. The USB likely won't work with a computer as it usually requires a particular file structure; something simple like you'd find on a flash drive, ipod, or some phones.

What is "USB current protection ON" problem in

It looks like you connected an USB external harddisk that is drawing too much current. If the USB drive has an supplemental power supply, connect it, otherwise you may need another external drive.

I am using a 8Gb usb flash drive. I formatted the drive. Copied the new bin files to it. The is no directory on the drive. I click the usb and it tells me there is no usb drive. I place the usb drive in...

You formatted the drive first - what format did you use? The HTS3520 can only read FAT or DOS formats (FAT-32 is the newest format that the unit can read.) (Most USB flash drives come with a FAT32 format.)

Alternatively, you could burn the upgrade files to a CD-R.
