Question about Canon PowerShot A530 Digital Camera
I seem to be having a problem with my digital camera not communicating with the computer. I've checked the USB cords, and plugged other devices in to ensure it is not the cable. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the program twice. Any suggestions? COuld this be an internal problem within the camera?
Most cameras need to be turned on. Also, some cameras have a little switch or button to push in order to transfer images to 'puter. Actually, you probably don't even need to install whatever program you did. Unless perhaps you're running windows 98 & computer needs the drivers. So, next time you try to transfer images, click on "my computer" and you should see your camera. If not, that's weird. In which case, simply buy or borrow a card reader & insert your card and hook it up to the computer. It should work for sure.

Please read this carefully and see if you are doing everything correctly. Also you need to connect camera to power source. And use the Original USB cable that came with camera.
Connect the camera to your computer with the dedicated USB cable so that they can communicate. You can connect the camera while your computer is running.
