There is a possibility that your optical unit is faulty and might need a change. Since the model is not ery familiar you will have to check out with the local service centre the most approved ones in your city Bangalore for a confirmation. If the right model of the optical head is available , get a quote and get it replaced at the service centre so that your risk is low of buying one and finding it faulty if insttalled wrongly. If the new unit does not solve the issue then the main board could have a failure of the processing side. But it will be better that a trial change can confirm the fault before probing further. Hope you try this out. Good day
The easiest way to tell is if it work with the adapter plugged up to power. If it does work w/ the adapter and does not work when it is unplugged then yes I would suspect the battery. If it still does not come on with the adapter then it could possibly be the player itself.
If you had the player for quite some time it could be the battery. The batteries eventually get weaker and weaker and go. Like laptop. Did you notice less usage time after you charged it when it worked? If it isnt that old it could be an internal problem you may have to get checked out by manufacturer, also check if its still under warranty.
