Bought the Kodak Klic-8000 battery for my KodakEasyShare Z712 IS and it will not turn on my camera, my mom has the Z812 and it works in hers????? it is suppose to work for the Z612,712 & 812??? why won't it work in my camera? I have the same problem too, i bought a chinese Klic-8000 on ebay and my z712 don't even turn on, the battery its OK, because i had test it with a multimeter and it's holding good energy. I will try a 1800 mAh CRV3 battery, i hope that it arrives in this week from China, if you wish, i can tell you if this battery works for me. NOTE: Sorry if my english is not good enough, i'm from Mexico.

Put a small piece of two sided tap in the grove, about 2 x 2 x 1 mm and see it it slides the switch completely, don't remove tap from the outerside.

My Z812 keeps telling me I need to reset the date/time every time I turn it on, even if I have just done it. Also drawing batteries very quickly (lithium, camera type)

It may only happen enter date and time if you remove the battery in the camera., If your not removing the batteru out of the camera you should not recieved that message, unless battery is out of charge or no power.

You should use this battery Kodak Li-Ion rechargeable battery KLIC-8000. This is a special battery for Z812 camera,

Note: You must also need to purchase a charger for this type of battery.
I guarantee you it will provide stable longer power for on your camera

Put brand new batteries in camera took three pic then they die

Hi, you will only solve this by buying the official KODAK battery (KLIC-8000) - NZD52.00 retail here in New Zealand. Even the generic CR3V rechargeable batteries dont work, so dont waste your $$ on them.
Even now, with the 'official' battery, when taking flash photos or zooming a lot, I find that it is only taking around 150 - 200 shots, when Kodak boast over 400.
But I must say the capabilities of the camera (esp the quality video) outstrip any annoyance battery wise.
Hope this helps, regards Wayne

Kodak Z712IS-batteries die so quickly

you can't really get around the fact that digital cameras create a heavy strain on batteries. rechargables are the only way to go with them. now about the chinese battery. the voltage may be fine but that is not under load (being in the camera during operation) so it's deceptive about the voltage.

Kodak Z812 shuts off automatically

It is a high-powered camera, also knows as a GREAT camera. Use CRV-3 lithium duracell batteries. I have the same camera and the same "problem", but when I use that battery it lasts forever.

Battery problem

Hi,

For my Z712 I'm using since one year CRV3 li-ion rechargeable.
No problems until now, few THOUSANDS of photos.

I've buy it from ebay.co.uk .

the camera will work with any brand of lithium but only the KLIC 8000 battery will work as a rechargeable

please look at your getting started guide and check page 1, there's an illustration of the 3 types of batts that will work:
lithium crv3, lithium aa and klic 8000
ni-mh is really not compatible

please check at the bottom of your camera, the three types of batts I mentioned are engraved at the battery door

thank you
