Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook

A button was pushed on my keyboar that shrunk all the font

My 2 yr. old son pushed a key or combo of keys on my keyboard and it shrunk the font on that one page only. It's a page I frequent so it's very frustrating.
I've asked for help from the page tech. support team but they have no good answers.

I am sure I just need to push the same keys my son did, I just have no idea which ones!

Just press "Ctrl" key with "+" plus Key  and both keys should be pressed simultaniously. You can also decreased the font by using "Ctrl" key with "-" minus key

If its an IE webpage , click View , the Text Size then Medium , which is the default setting.

On the particular page , ensure that the zoom setting in the lower right corner (Magnifying glass with a percentage next to it) is on 100% , if not , click the small arrow to the right on it and click 100%

hope this solves your problem

The keyboard is locked on my toshiba satellite l500 laptop how do I unlock this ?

So you get a been when you press a key is that correct?
A beeb is normally telling you that the keyboard data buffer is full

If so I have a feeling that one or several keys on you keybard are stuck and being pressed down.

As you dont get any letters then its likely to be a passive key, like control alt tab or a Fn key.

So give you keyboard a clean out, get the hoover out and vacum the keyboard.

The other possibility is that you keyboard has died or connections need checking.

Removing a keyboars is normally a sim ple procedure, it involves unclipping the power buttons, removing a couple of screws under the laptop releases the keyboard and it will have a wide ribbon cable that goes into a slot, In this video I show how a keyboard is normally removed from a laptop.

Hi, my key fell out off of my keyboard how do i fix it?

A laptop "key" generally comes with a metal harness as well. Just clip the harness onto the back of the key, then press the key onto the keyboard firmly - it should snap back on. If the key looks as if its not clipped in correctly, push down with a little more force and a bit of a finger jiggle.
My son when he was 2 pulled ALL of my laptop keys off - and this was how i got them back on.

Dell inspiron keyboard issue?

There is a keystroke combo that enables or disables those keys.
They should work. Can't remember the keystroke, but it's a FN plus one of the keys--should be a symbol on the keyboard.

There are 2 common problems for this.
1. Something got stuck under the keyboard of your laptop. Food scraps or Dirt and Grime build-up due to sweaty palms or fingers clean the keyboard.
2.The Membrane on your keyboard that act as a switch cold be shorted due to wear and tear or heavy key presses. Have your keyboard replaced.

Other problems could be cracked board if you happen to lean or put heavy stuff over the keyboard and cracked ribbon connector.

Laptop keyboard

Hi,

If a key is popped up, its better to replace the keyboard instead of trying to put it back on the laptop.

You can call HP they will always replace the keyboard, if the key popped up.

If you dont have warranty you can better buy a new keyboard.

It is better to but a new keyboar, than to give someoone the same money to replace the old one.

Good Luck.

Laptop screen dark

Most laptops have a function key that allows you to use special color coded operations. Usually these are in blue on the keyboard. Look for on that shows a picture of two monitors side by side. One will have a sun in it. Try pressing and holding the function key and then tapping this two monitor key. This option is suppose to allow you to activate a second monitor or a projector for presentations.
