Re: loaded film wrong??

I'm assuming you're not able to shoot pics. Its my best guess that the film just isn't getting loaded properly. Next time you attempt to load film there maybe a small red mark near the take spool (bottom edge where film goes) to indicate how far you need to pull the leader forward toward take up spool. I think the film isn't out quite far enough for the camera to do its auto load thing & when you close the back it goes thru its auto loading motions but the film just isn't getting loaded. Then close back & see what happens.

My 35mm film won't load. It keeps rewinding

Solution: Repair or replace auto-rewind system.
Cause: The built in auto-rewind system that supposed to work when film is finished but because it is faulty it receives wrong signal when film is lloaded. So the camera thinks the film is at the end of the roll.
Possible cost: $65-$75

I cant find the correct size film for this camera i bought it at a yard sale

The Konica Minolta Maxxum QTsi is a nice SLR camera that can accept a wide range of 35mm films. You can buy 35mm films from Kodak, Fujifilm and many other companies.

Put new batteries it won't power on. been sitting not used for multiple years. bought new film but it doesn't seem to load since it won't power on. minolta qt si camera

Did it sit for years with batteries in it? You may need to clean corrosion off the battery contacts. Even alkalines and rechargeables can leak.

I keep trying to load film and when i close the camera it sounds as if its loading but the number stays at 0

OK, so we know that the film transport motor is not dead. That's a good thing.
When I have that problem with my HTsi or XTsi, I try several ways of placing the film leader on the take-up roller. Also be sure that the take-up roller is clean or it will not grab the film. I also have a TEST roll. I put it in cameras to be sure its grabbing film.
RARE, but it can can refuse to come out of the canister. Take it into a room tonight, turn out the light so you do not expose the film, and try pulling the film out. Use the knob to rewind it before you turn on the light.
Meantime, try another film roll
NOT likely, but possible - Film advance motor running but take-up spool not turning. This means a trip to repair shop. Since the QTsi/STsi/HTsi and XTsi are not that expensive on Ebay these days, get one as a parts donor/ spare camera. The other models will give you more choices. HTsi and XTsi have 3 AF sensors.

Hi, i have a minolta 5000i and the indicator on the screen keeps indicating that i have the film in wrong. I have my owners manuale and loading the film is dummy proof but the camera wont pick up the film....

Your 5000i is one of the 2nd generation auto focus SLRs Minolta released in the early 90s. They no longer supply parts or service for this model. If there is a mechanical problem with the film transport, it is likely beyond hope. You can use any lenses for it on similar Minoltas like the 300Si/450Si series which came after yours. These are available usually on sites like eBay for a very low price. I would even consider looking on sites like for something local.

Bad Minolta Maxxum lens?

Oddly enough, the camera and lens are working just fine now - or at least they appear to be. I'll shoot some more when I have good lighting and 1-hour them tomorrow for the results.

Older equipment on newer equipment

Carry one of your lenses to a camera store and ask them to let you compair it with one for a Maxxum.

The Sony Alpha / Konica / Minolta mount is called a TYPE A bayonette mount. google the Maxxum and see if it accepts the TYPE A mount.
